Captain Braunsfeld Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 ... it was said that the Stubborn Stern bravely managed to outrun a dreaded pirate... here's what it looked like: So, Colonel Brickinson can celebrate .... ... while Captain Cookie and his team are not so happy: (I tried a different way of clouds on this one - and I have added small flags ) C&C welcome! Maxim I Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Haha as awesome as your previous build! Great job :) Quote
BrickOn Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Cute ships, glad to see you escaped. I like the glasses, very elegant, where are they from? Quote
Garmadon Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Love the expressions on those guys' faces and the amount of character you were able to put into the Stubborn Stern "boldly running away"! The background looks quite nice as well, overall this is definitely an improval over last time! It would probably be better with a bunch of light trans-blue studs, but I do kind of like the minimalistic approach you have Quote
Elostirion Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 (edited) LOL! But nicely executed as well. Good job, keep it up! :-) Edited April 5, 2016 by Elostirion Quote
Captain Genaro Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 The expressions on the minifigs made me laugh. The build is also very nice and clean. I particularly like the use of trans-clear plates for the Stubborn Stern's wake. It really adds to the appearance that it's sailing significantly faster than the pirate. Quote

Bregir Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 NIce microvignette, captain. It is nice that you added flags, but might one not consider it odd that 1) they are not flowing in the same direction and 2) that the flag on the pirate vessel indicates that it is sailing right against the wind? Quote

Not necessarily odd when you consider what these sea guys are doing with their sails. I think it works out perfectly fine that the pirate is sailing against the wind and loses speed - the Stubborn Stern makes efficient use of the wind coming from portside. Those winds are tricky!
