Your First LEGO Set

Recommended Posts

Do you remember what your very first Lego set was?

Good idea for a topic... that's why we already have one!

I merged yours with the old.

Mine was 7130 Snowspeeder. Which also has the most missing parts in my collection.

EDIT: Well, it's first SW set anyway. I can't remember my first, it was probably something Duplo.

This was mine, which I got when I was 1:

Unfortunately, I lost most of the printed parts many years ago. :cry_sad: (either that or the printing wore off over time)

Great thread! It was this for me:

Got it in 1980-ish when I was 5 or 6 and I've still got it! Can't remember if it was birthday or Xmas or whatever but I remember opening it and building it. Great days!

Cheers

Rog

Just now, I went to speak with my father and asked him "Father, what is the first LEGO set you had bought for me?" My father looked at me and said "Actually, that LEGO set was bought for myself. I built it, and showed it to you. I believed that is the first LEGO set ever." I showed a very pleased look and happy to know that the first set he had ever bought for me, was my all time top 3 favourite set. I thank him personally for bringing LEGO into my life, when I was a child.

My first LEGO set is none other, the 6378 Shell Station, which was released in 1986, classifed as Classic Town.

that was my first one. I am pretty sure about it. My sister had some Fabuland earlier and I got the Fabuland Postman Boris Bulldog also quite early, but I really think this was my very first one. I still have the manual somewhere, and I can recollect the feeling of playing with it, the sound the pieces made, the boxy ambulance made with the loose stretcher and girl inside, the tires made... like it was yesterday. No joke.

But I know the first one I got after my long dark ages was this one. Creator Highway Haulers.

I have checked BrickSet many times. My first set came with two baseblates and freestyle bricks. I couldn't seem to find it on brickset though. :cry_sad:

I thnk I had some "first sets"

- When I was 3 years old, I've been presented with a couple of Minitalia boxes (one of them is n°14, as you can see) minitaliapx2.th.jpg

That was Christmas 1976.The content, along with some other Lego I inherited from a cousin, ended up in a cylindrical cardboard Dixan box to be used in my youngest days of MOCing (8 to 11 years old, I'd say)

- With the exception of a fire car promo set with Ovomaltina, my first Town set was 379 Bus Station. Bought in 1982 summer holidays but not allowed to open it until we got home, in order not to lose some pieces.

- My first Space set was 6822 Shuttle Craft, bought on new year's eve in 1981 or 1982.

- My first Castle set was 6021 Jousting knights. Bought in/for my Saint's day in 1984.

- Leaving a couple of Choppers and some used stuff aside, my first new Lego set after my (and Lego's) dark days was 7990 Cement mixer.

Speed Trackers!

I do remember playing with this set A LOT, even though I was little when I had it. I'm considering rebuilding it for nostalgia's sake...

Topic is self-explanatory. Post pics, links to Peeron pages, or anecdotes if you can!

We already had a topic like this so I've merged them!

722...

722-1.1122436244.thumb2.jpg

...and then 733...

733-1.1162780616.thumb2.jpg

I really should try to build some of the models. I recall the helicopter in 733 was pretty cool. *wub*

Carry on! :sweet:

That is still knocking around the house. I can always remember it being there and as the oldest it was certainly mine, and I was born in 88, a year before they stopped producing it...

That was more than likely the very first Lego Product I ever had.

I dont remember my first set but it was likely Duplo.

My first post-dark-ages set was the 8448 Super Street Sensation (the wheels on that thing are GREAT for large-size MOCs of cars with alloy or fancy wheels)

I don't remember the exact first Lego set. Parents didn't take pictures. I remember having a red tow truck like this one way way back.
