I think he means the piece for the red signal light / flare, but that is a 1985 or something light&sound light-bulb cap, they are available in red, yellow, blue and green.

ah, i already thought that. but it could also be he means the bley handle thingy..that isn't new either, it has been used for example in the new police station, and also in the castle siege (black ones here).

looks like the coastguard kayak is now available to buy on the lego online store for £2.49 Lego store kayak page . Also the new batman set is available too with the hammer big wheel truck.

Wow i know this is a late comment [Saw it ages ago but forgot to comment
 ] i realy like that CG bike i might slap some police stickers on it [Wouldnt stand out as much with other colours so orange will have to do] it reminds me of this at the APEC summit several months ago here in Australia [Pics below]

Definitely the biggest and the best of the Coastguard sets. Makes me feel better about not getting the Coastguard tower as it looks sort of similar in this one.
