Grendelego Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) Last update -> http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=107350entry2182065 This summer I get my hand on Black Seas Barracuda and Caribbean Clipper and it make my wanted to do a little diorama with them. With the recent wave a pirates, the urge to do it was strong so I started the project. I wanted to do an Island, without a real blueprint in mind. I started to do some LDD test for the rocks and the beach, the I do the first stage. WIP 1 WIP 2 WIP 3 WIP 4 After a week, I finish the cave, with some modifications. WIP 05 WIP 06 WIP 07 WIP 08 WIP 09 WIP 10 WIP 11 WIP 12 WIP 13 WIP 14 WIP 16 WIP 17 WIP 18 WIP 19 WIP 20 WIP 21 For the 1st floor I worked everything on LDD, except the "base" and how the stair will be attach. WIP22 WIP23 WIP24 WIP25 WIP26 WIP27 WIP29 WIP30 I already did some modifications to the bar (to see the kitchen in the back, under the stairs) And I'm working on the 2 floor on LDD. To be continued... Edited April 2, 2015 by Grendelego

Kolonialbeamter Posted March 24, 2015 Hi there, wow, this is looking real good already. Nice rockwork, the texture of the walls is well executed, nice beach formation, great details at this stage. I think the water still lacks the same level of excellence. And the doors (and windows) look a tad too modern, imo. I'd swap them for latticed windows and custom wooden doors. Looking forward to see more of this Best regards, KB
Captain Edward Posted March 24, 2015 What KolonialBeamter said, I'd change the modern windows and doors, but looking good already. I love the beach part, I hope you add a drunken skeleton with a nice bottle of rum leaning against a palm tree with a treasure map at his side. And some custom seagulls? Regards, Cpt. Grendelego Posted March 24, 2015 (edited) Thanks for the coms. For the windows, I've tried rounded ones, but it doesn't look good on the thing I want to do with the "facade" (basicaly, shape of a skull, so the windows will be the nose). Doesn't tried for the side, and I only have them in white, I don't think it'll look good) I don't see how to fit well a brickbuild door (I've tried, but my LEGO are still poor for that). Plaid Beard Posted March 26, 2015 I really like where you're going with this project, and I look forward to seeing more of it. You've also given me some ideas for ways to improve my own pirate tavern, which I have finished several times in the past few years but never managed to get just right. What really interests me is how easy you make it look - like your beach, it looks amazing and easy, but I've found beaches hard to do, so I'lI be borrowing your method, if that's okay with you! Thanks and no problems ;) For the beach, I did a lot of test on LDD to see what'll looks like, then I took all my sand plate and wedge, and I Started from the sea and add the rock after, but I allready did all the left rock part ;)

Sebeus I Posted March 31, 2015 I love it so far, especially the cave to the cellar, nice bar .
2maxwell Posted March 31, 2015 Wow, this is really nice. I love all the details. One thing though, I can't shake the feeling that this is like a pirate themed modern restaurant. I think it's the doors and just how nice the bar is haha.
Grendelego Posted April 1, 2015 Thanks all. I'm almost done ;) Some things to change but mostly put people in it ;) WIP 31 WIP 32 WIP 33 WIP 34 Some details WIP 35 WIP 36 WIP 37 WIP 38 I did each floor modular. Each floor have a fonction. I already show you the cave, I haven't touch it yet (May change the floor for a more irregular one ;) ) I've change the bar (but not the door yet) and had some light. WIP 40 A little change on the front. WIP 41 Let's go upstrairs. WIP 42 I really didn't know how to do the inside. I change the private part to a luxury section, thoses guy had to spend some loot ! This section is the weapon room with acces to others parts. And an acces upstairs WIP 43 WIP 44 I wanted a simlpe outside, balconies are still to improve. WIP 45 WIP 46 WIP 47 For the roof, I wanted to fortified a bit and put some defence. I add a big light to lure ships, flags can change with the prey ;) WIP 48 WIP 49 WIP 50 WIP 51 WIP 52 WIP 53 WIP 54 A little view with my ships ;) WIP

Grendelego Posted April 8, 2015 Thanks ;) I don't know what I'll do next, maaybe somethine related to super heroes or LOTR. Certainly another building (as you can see on my FLICKR, I like doing buildings ;) ) But to do another big project, I'll need to dismantle this one (or buy more LEGO ;) ). steentje Posted April 9, 2015 you should buy more lego :D....nice built!...it's always frustrating when you have to break MOCs down for new projects (or because of space (lack of))
