So, finally, I've finished my latest city moc until the end of the contest: a lighthouse

lighthouse_entry.jpg

Some months ago, I bought the latest ResQ set with the base, with the idea of making on it a lighthouse. And now that I leave with my bricks and I'm rebuilding all my city, I have made it.

And because I don't have curves pieces and the fact that you cannot put windows in them, and I don't want to spend all my bricks in a technical technic to have those curves, I decided to make it right, with an open back for playability and toshow the inside.

So I made a simple structure. I just add some details in the "toplight"

lighthouse_09.jpg

The interior has some sealife accessories in the case of... a table with a chair and a lamp for the gardian to live, and the ladder to go on top of the tower...

lighthouse_06.jpg

On the base, I put a pontoon for boats, just few things not to make it too much.

lighthouse_11.jpg

And some grass here and here. But there is a place where it grow up better... There is a legend on it, with a *skull* story...

If you want to learn more about it, clic here, you will find a part of this legend...

So here it is. My entry for the City Contest:

The Flower Shop

dsc00538.jpg

I dont know if it is Classic Town or whatever. I only now, that it is my first try for a City Moc and i hope that some of you like it.

The Idea with the wooden top floor came from my last visit in Austria. Ive seen such a lot of beautiful houses on my way so i decided to try something like that. I know that the roof is a little to high, i was thinking about it a long time and decided to make it on this way. A friend of mine lives in a flat with a roof like that, so i think okay.. its real.

dsc00540.jpg

Theres a little office at that floor, the clerk is making the book keeping.

dsc00546.jpg

Now something about the ground floor. First insight the shop: You can buy some potted plants, cut flowers and vases.

dsc00550.jpg

My favourite is the garden, where you can also choose some plants. Some of you may wonder about the boat at the garden. I thought a normal table with plants on it will be too boring. So i decided to take a little boat.

dsc00542.jpg

One last pic from the back of the house:

dsc00545.jpg

The whole Gallery you can find here: EB Contest

If you want, tell me your opinions about it at this thread.

Thanks and Greetings

Sandra

and leftovers from my 4954 Creator house MOC (in the background)

and of course was loaded with 4 wide classic cars from my Girlfriends Town

Hi

Since Mr Hinckley is so kind *sweet* to invite me to his city contest I have decided to enter my pizza place. I don't believe it would stand a chance against his lovely brewery or some of those other lovely entries but we have to give it a chance. :-) Unfortunately I don't have time to MOC another building before the deadline so we have to go with the Luigis. *wacko*

You have all seen it before but here are the pictures once again.

And as usual, the brickshelf folder

Bear with me and best regards

OK guys after a lot of destroying/rebuildin/ordering (and what have you :-P ) may I present you my first city MOC building (and definitly NOT the last, I really developped a taste for it :-D ):

Bar "Le *yoda*"

Here are general pics of the baby before I explain that project ;-)

img_5008.jpg

img_5012.jpg

I wanted a SW feel to a classic American small town bar (I started with pics of Moe's Tavern ;-) ): thus a squarish building with billboard and black roof. The Moe's Tavern feel can be found with the use of those reddish brown tiles. I also wanted an outdoor area for patrons !!

Since the ba is called "Le Yoda" it had to bee sand green hehe and I love the combination sand green/reddish brown.

Now I'll show you some details !! Lets start with the roof with that hilarious billboard name and chimney/air extraction:

img_5013.jpg

img_5028.jpg

img_5016.jpg

To continue on Moe's Tavern idea, I wanted to add a red/green glass areas (like regular Irish pubs mind you ;-) ) so here is a pic of that from the interior:

img_5022.jpg

I will finish with the exterior area. You cannot go there by the street but by a second door from the bar. To continue on that sand green pattern, I added a mosaic floor with another color combination: sand green/tan.

You will notice the lack of chairs and its normal, that area is just to pose glasses ;-) (like in the bar I went to in Phillie for 3 months lool).

To have a less Dark bley wall feeling, I added lots of vegetation for a cosy feel and a dark bley lamp post for night lighting ;-)

img_5032.jpg

To finish, here are the 2 jolly sigfigs having a drink X-D

img_5036.jpg

More pics here !!

Enjoy and please comment in the other thread ;-)

Well, this is my entry. Sorry about the length, but like Hinckley said... when you build something you want to show lots of pictures and details.

So...

Its modeled after the classic American diner that were prevalent in the 1970s. Big signs, flat buildings, lots of windows. These would good examples, but I wasnt try to copy any, just the feel.

http://www.dinercity.com/miDiner/miDiners.html

So, here it is, in all its excessive glory. The pictures have links to higher res pictures too, for those who care.

I was told to enter the damn thing, so I am >:-( :'-)

I'm probably late too, it's been that kind of day (I did look at cameras though and I'm waiting for a deal).

Therfore, we get the non-buildable digital entry! :-$

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=237330

chinatown_2.jpg

Thumbnails for the rest, all in the gallery. They're a little big on a slow connection.

chinatown_1.jpg_thumb.jpgchinatown_2.jpg_thumb.jpgchinatown_3.jpg_thumb.jpgchinatown_overhead.jpg_thumb.jpg

Now, anyone who votes for me is an idiot, so nyah! :-P

Seriously though, thanks for insisting I enter, even though I didn't want to. This whole thing was a lot of fun until the camera failure, even the pressure of waiting for orders and such. I fully intend to post the real result of my efforts once I can.

I'll also add this, neither this entry or the one I actually built stands a chance against some of the beautiful work up there, I'm really happy to see how creative this community can be! *y*
