Star Wars Constraction 2015 Discussion

Recommended Posts

As posted in the Star Wars threads, looks like we'll be getting some LEGO Star Wars constraction figures like the Ultrabuilds for Super Heroes from 2012.

Simply amazing. I was following that Lego Ideas projects closely and was quite sad to see it shut down. I thought that Lego couldn't produce action figures? This might mean that they have gotten constraction to be considered 'construction' (which they own the liscense for) more than 'figures' (which Hasbro owns the liscense for).

Didn't they say, like, Lego can't make Star Wars action figures because other brand has the licence for it, or something like that?

People are going to go nuts for capes again, aren't they?

Seriously though, I hope that they come up with a creative way to build light sabers, or a good mold. If this isn't just a hoax.

This is incredible. I'm not even that big of a Star Wars fan but I can't stop myself from anticipating this sub-theme.

Think of the pieces... the new molds... the colors...

If Lego doesn't disappoint this will quickly become MoCist heaven

Here's to hoping that the lightsabers will be long transparent axles, and the capes will be good quality.

I seriously wasn't expecting this. At all. Provided they are done right and are set at a reasonable price point, I could see myself buying these. I was never really into the Super Heroes ultrabuilds though, the heads kind of creeped me out a little (still bought them all for the plethora of unique recolours they introduced).

As for lightsabers, I have built CCBS figure sized ones before and can't really see anything wrong with just using some 1x1 round bricks with a white 3mm hose going through it. But an actual dedicated piece would be awesome, especially if a light was somehow integrated into it.

Oh, and one can never have enough capes, might even get some in a colour other than black.

But I won't get my hopes up too much until such a thing is confirmed to be true.

I will be both sad and overjoyed should these rumors prove true.

I will be overjoyed because it will likely mean a large array of new or differently-colored CCBS parts, but I will be sad because, if said parts prove to be as interesting as I'd suspect, I'll end up buying them all, for fear of missing out on interesting parts. I'm still kicking myself for ignoring some of those Chima ultrabuilds like Laval, with their 5-unit long trans blue shells and golden chestpieces.

I'm looking forward to that as well ( if it is true), even though I'm not a huge fan of Star Wars. I could definitely go for more capes and perhaps various shades of brown and tan shells.

Why do people like capes so much? I haven't been able to find a single use for them, and I have three or four of them lying around.

Oh my god I hope this is true. And that it leads to the super heroes returning to fill out the ranks of the Justice League, and some Marvel mutants and supers. And Doc Ock.

But on topic, those prices seem high. Maybe even though it says "like the marvel ones," that's just a bad interpretation and they really are more statue than action figure? Don't wanna get my hopes up, but that Cuusoo project TheDesuComplex mentioned did look exactly like what I'd want this to be. Like I said about the prices though, are they gonna be including some much more enormous figures? Durge? Or come like premium figures with a mount or a turret? Or something completely uncalled for?

It's the last one, isn't it? It's the last one. Ok, Lego. I'll take your delicious pieces.

Well, in fact there is a pretty good clue that's in favor of the rumor: namely the previously reported prices, which are all about the same, which would be really weird if those were regular sets

Weeeell.. Talk about a nice (to say the least) surprise. Just when I was thinking it's sad we don't get any constraction line besides BIONICLE this year and that the summer wave for that theme is so ridiculously small.. THIS this comes out. I guess they want to take advantage of Episode VII, which makes perfect sense.

Those high price tags make me think that they will be quite overpriced as it's customary for SW sets- I wouldn't be surprised if the 20 euro sets are about on same level of complexity of 15 euro BIONICLE sets like Lewa, Gali and the like (I'd love to be proven wrong, but..).

The 35 Euro set/s (I shall use plural only from now so the post feels less cumbersome), however, sound much more interesting , even if they're overpriced. Unless we're looking at more VS sets like Mask Maker VS Skull Grinder, we might finally get those big hefty Titan constraction lines failed to deliver in the recent years.

And of course I'm dying to see what types of new pieces and recolours (sand green on Boba Fett anyone?) we might get- weapons, armour add-ons, etc.. Lego invests a lot in SW so, while I obviously don't expect one as big as the one System sets get, I hope this line still gets a sizeable budget.

Hoping for some cool designs as well. I hope we get a big Darth Vader I can turn into Makuta or some other Bio-baddie.

With chains or rubber bands, capes can be fitted over all sorts of constructs, either System or CCBS, even if the capes only have one point of "connection" for the neck.

I didn't even notice that there was one with a $35 pricetag. I hope that it's something that really makes use of the higher pricetag to do something unique. Perhaps a Jabba set. The idea of a Sarlacc ultrabuild/system hybrid next year is too appealing.

I wonder if this has any relation to the Cuusoo project from a while back, although

its probably more related to The Force Awakens

General Grievous or bust.

Seriously, he'd probably be the best figure to make using Constraction.

Super excited to hear this. Wasn't too into the Chima Ultrabuilds (or superheroes, for that matter), but Star Wars and Constraction sounds like it'll make a beautiful baby.

Yes! Like the rumored Skull Slicer from the summer Bionicle wave! Although I wonder if Lego would release two four-armed baddies within close proximity to each other...

Again, assuming this is true.

Finally. I loved the Superheroes and Chima constraction sets. With the disappointing Bionicle summer wave, this is going to help satisfy my constraction fix for the second half of the year!

I tend to buy the other constraction subthemes sparingly, but these have some potential if they look anything like the mock-ups that we've seen. I'd be in for a Greivous figure, easily.

All c'mon, I'll look forward to:

1.) Vader (because yes -might buy)

2.) Storm Troopers (obligatory -will buy)

3.) C3PO and R2D2 (Just put them in the same set and get it over with -wont buy)

Interesting stuff

4.) Any Mandolarians (Including jango and Boba -will buy)

5.) Blue Crimson Guard (-will buy)

NO Gungans

I will be both sad and overjoyed should these rumors prove true.

Is this true?? 5 unit long trans dark blue? or trans light blue?

perfect for slicer's build.

This is pretty awesome news! If anything, this at least promises the possibility of new recolours, but new parts would be very nice as well.

Seeing as we'd likely be getting a Jedi or another Lightsaber wielding character, do you think we'll see gearboxes on these?
