In the last years of The War, both sides were desperate. Men were running out... Fast.

6517334285_cbc28a5446.jpg

Soon more had joined the ranks of the dead, than were still amongst the living...

6517334295_461602a072.jpg

So the warring nations started using the Dead. They reanimated corpses with twisted machinery. They brought the rotting corpses out of theyre graves, and turned them into killing machines...

6517334303_8be054ef96.jpg

But The War ended. Neither side won. They both collapsed, decayed, and were overwelmed by the monsters they had created... This is the world our survivors have to rebuild their world in...

Welcome to Eurobricks' 5th. LDD RCB!

Rules, features, and requirements: (Copied from ADHO15, Brickdoctor, and Piratedave84, with my own modifications.)

Requirements:

- This RCB will be built using LDD 4.1.8 4.2.5 and Extended Mode. If you have not downloaded the 4.1.8 4.2.5 patch, please do so and ensure it to works properly prior to signing up. (should an update to LDD be done as the build progresses, we will then transistion to the updated version)

- You must have a Brickshelf account and know how to use it.

- By the end of the build, the model will contain nearly 6000 pieces. If you think that your computer will be unable to handle such a large model, please do not sign up.

Building Regulations:

- This will be a build featuring two factions building in one build. Each faction will have 10 members. The teams will take turns to build. The starting point of the builds are the two starting models I built. Start building from there, and the two factions should build towards each other, and will hopefully meet in the middle. Please dont build behind the starting build, and don't go to far towards the side.

- At the end of the build there will be a public vote. There you will be able to vote for the team you like most.

- Each person can add up to 300 bricks. Use the brick counter to ensure you don't use too many bricks, otherwise portions of your addition will be deleted.

- The general rule is that you can't alter bricks placed by a previous builder. However, if absolutely necessary in order to place some vital structural elements, you are allowed to move max ten of of previous builders bricks. This allowance is not to be used to add decorations or other trivial elements.

- You can use any colouring you want, but please dont go extreme and use silly colours just because you can. (Sorry Aanchir you just lost your job... )

- Avoid 'floating' of bricks, except in special cases where friction would hold the piece in place in real life. While it is okay to have corners and spaces between buildings, please keep the whole model attached. If you need more space, add in a baseplate.

- As a general guideline please avoid use of BPPs, BURPs, and <insert that tiresome argument> pieces. Brick-built solutions usually have a more refined look to them.

- Please try to stay with the post-apocalyptic theme. Just dont build things like happy flower-full vallies with dancing virgins unless it's completely necessary.

- I would be happy if this build included some kind of conflict between the two teams. If in this battlefield its hard to tell who built what, please use grouping.

- You will be able to build underground, but not to much, and most of the scene should still be above the surface. So underground construction should be possible, please use plates instead of baseplates.

- Just so our model doesn't end up looking half-finished, if you are one of the later builders, try not to start anything that can't be easily completed by the next builder.

- BasOne can't sing or I'll personally eat his BRAINZ!!!

What to do on Your Turn:

• You will receive a PM from myself notifying you when it is your turn and containing the latest version of the model. While the model will be available for download to anyone after the completion of each turn, please do not begin work on your portion before I have sent you the PM, otherwise you might lose your work and/or things could get messy.

• Download the file I sent you and add your bricks. Make sure you follow the Building Regulations. You have three days to complete and send in your model. If you do not or cannot finish in time, you will be replaced by a reserve participant.

• The file I sent you will be named "aftertheapocalypseturn(a number+Z. or S)". Rename the file using the appropriate Turn Number, add S if you are a survivor, and Z if you are a Zombie and upload it to your Brickshelf account, and PM a link back to me.

towards the survivors' camp.

-To join the Zombies, make your Zombie in LDD, take a picture,

You are the Survivors, one of the last groups of living humans on earth.

You must defeat the Zombies, to build a better world!

- The survivors will be building a ramshackle hideout. It should look like it was built out of trash,

but should still be reasonably practical and realistic.

-To join the Survivord, make your Character in LDD, take a picture,

and post it here. Also post the LXF file. Name it. Then wright a short introduction/Story.

Hope you all have fun!!!!

When can i sign up?

I love this idea, not just as a post apoc build, but a build like this could be done with all other themes where you have 2 sides.

I love the 'put yourself in the build as a minifig' idea too

I'd sign up in an instant

Oooh ooh... i want to be a Zombie :pir-sick:

I love all of these ideas.

I'm assuming Survivors would build those ramshackle sheet metal and wood towns you see in many post-apocalyptic works, while Zombies are building run-down cities and such?

Yep, the survivors will build a sort of ramshackle hideaway out of scrap, and the Zombies will be building a deserted, ruined city!

Another special thing is that you will be able to build underground...

Ha, I like those starter models. Enough to inspire but not restrictive.

I've never built in this theme before so it should be interesting when sign-ups go around.

Great ideas, and I love the base models you created!

We had tossed around the idea of a team build for the 4th(and current RCB).

I like the concept of concurrent builds but if you choose to have the other team build on top of the initial team, how would we proceed to vote for the "best" if both models comprise elements from both team.

You could simply have to concurrent builds and then merge the 2 models as a cohesive build where it would be clear which is zombie and which is survivor.

Just a thought

Also, sign me up ... NOW!

Is this the sort of limits on colors, and also, does it fit the sort of style you're going for?

Looks cool! I like the colours, but I think the bridge could be a bit more detailed, although the river looks quite complex. How many pieces?

Well, the bridge pieces are big <insert that tiresome argument> ones that sort of inspired me to build it, so more detailed isn't much of an option. I really have no idea how many pieces there are, though judging by the river and grass, I'd have to harbor a guess at a ton.

Sign me up for the Survivors! (Also, can a model have more than one minifigure? Plus, what if we do the same minifig as someone else?)

Before the war, Barty-Bart Docken XVII, great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandson of Lord Bartholomew Docken of Avalonia, stayed in Bricdocton Castle, had no social life, and spend his time building with little plastic blocks. Like all the Dockens before him, he was born with a disease that rendered his skin a shade of what the doctors called '24 Bright Yellow' and gave him little black dots of eyes. He fights against the Zombies only because he can't stand their horribly distorted, pale faces with giant eyes with white dots in them. His choice of weaponry is a sci-fi ray gun. Yes, it makes "Pew-pew!" noises when it fires. No, you cannot have one.

By the way, Alopex, yours is the 5th RCB, not the 6th. During the planning of RCB 2, Superkalle said not to include the artsy RCB in the numbering since it wasn't finished.

Before the war, Renzo Mason was a high school drop out due to the fact that he thought school was boring and wanted to be educated in more exiting areas of life rather than cramming for finals like all the other students were (especially before christmas break) Thus he used his little knowledge of social engineering and mechanics to become friends with people who had more interesting jobs than your average civilian. Traveling from city to city he picked up the knowledge he found useful to his life such as Vehicle mechanics, Pistolsmithing, Computer building, Base jumping, etc. When the apocalypse came about one day and the whole world was destroyed in less than a year he was able to escape with his custom built super fast motorcycle, custom built super powerful and accurate revolver, and a few belongings which he kept in a very awesome messenger bag that belonged to his great great grandfather in WWII. These few mandatory belongings mixed with his vast collection of knowledge and skills he was able to successfully survive the disaster and live a life he had much fantasied about.

Captain Riben was a highly decorated assault specialist when he was killed during a covert operation in the final years of the great war.

His body being recoverd by another team he was revived and rebuild not to lose his skills and to teach others the finer points of close quarters battle.

Unfortunatly Captain Riben's reanimation process wasn't entirely succesfull and he massacared the first platoon of recruits he was supposed to train,

earning him the name 'The Chain-Axe Killer'.

Several attempts were made to recapture the renegade Captain, but armed with a energy shield and the fearsome chain-axe none ever returned alive to tell what happend.

Ahh, I just embarrassed myself in a forum full of thousands of people. That was stupid of me.

So if we are on different teams on the same turn does that make you my nemesis or something?
