Well, while browsing the forum today, an add would open up in a new tab for Lifelock. I'm not sure if it's a virus, but it only happens sometimes when I go to the forum index and even less when I go open a new topic. Is this a new type of ad? It's very intrusive.

I've seen nothing like that and no notices of pop-ups blocked. You might want to check your system for unfamiliar software. Probably not technically a "virus" but some sort of adware.

Okay, I'll be checking around. I'll report back my findings soon. It's not necessarily a pop-up, but rather an ad opening on another tab.

Apparently, Google ads are allowing another ad within them or some such nonsense. We're looking for a solution to the problem, but for now I suggest avoiding Lifelock, which does not look like a particularly great company to me. :hmpf_bad:

Okay, it appeared for the first time in a day or two. Here is the link: http://www.lifelock.com/?promocodehide=RADIUM1&utm_source=RadiumOne&utm_medium=display&utm_campaign=cpm&utm_term=ITPS_v180_Ultimate_PAI_LM_v2%20728x90&utm_content=728x90

It says something in the url about it being a display campaign, so I guess you're right Shadows, it is indeed Google ad nonsense. :sceptic:

Not a virus DD, has happened to me as well. Seems like Shadows is looking into it.

Alright, I turned off Adblock last week as I noticed it was on for Eurobricks. I love supporting the website, but this ad redirects here when I browsed the forum:

I was almost fooled by it. It pains me to say that I'm turning on Adblock here for now, but these types of ads are very sketchy.

Im glad I am not the only one getting these, EB seems to be the only website I am having trouble with.

I had a similar ad to that one appear as a redirect* when I clicked onto the Heroica home page from the Hall. Glad to see I'm not alone.

Not sure if it was the same ad, or one for Adobe updates. Very similar, though.

*Redirect, not a popup or additional tab,

We only have Google ads at the bottom of each page and one on the frontpage, but no pop-up ads or anything of the sort. I'm browsing EB all the time from several devices (PCs, tablets, smartphone) all without any ad-blockers and never did I have any issues like the one mentioned.

Not sure if this is exactly the right place to post this, but:

I'm going to guess that whatever ad hosting you're using for EB, it's been compromised (yes, it even happens to Google ads, quite a lot, actually). For now, I've put EB on my "trusted sites" list for Vipre, but just for the sake of testing I'm going to download Adblock, take EB off the trusted sites list, and see if it still gets flagged (I suspect it won't be, but it's important to test anyway  ).

EDIT: This is Firefox on Windows 7, BTW.

UPDATE: Sneaky! Just noticed when I closed the window that a pop-up ad had indeed appeared behind the main browsing window (it was an ad for auto insurance, one of the obviously scammy ads). Installing Adblock seems to have stopped that issue, but the site was still flagged by Vipre; this means that it's likely that Eurobricks itself has been flagged by antivirus software because of these malicious ads. You may want to contact them and explain to them that it's not EB's fault, and you'll probably want to contact you ad service as well to let them know. :sceptic:

I've sent them an EMail but there isn't much I can do other than that. Personally I find services like that useless; if it reports you know it might be a false positive, if it doesn't you wonder if it's a new threat... which means you still need to use common sense.

Sorry to revive this old topic but it's happening to me too, every time I go to Eurobricks my page changes into an ad page. Swiping back to get back to Eurobricks loads a different ad of the same site. However, I am using Adblock now and it works fine. Not sure if this is Eurobricks or something else...

I'm having trouble with a redirect that seems to be related to a Google Ads Ad. It redirects me to some "www.lemode-mgz.com". From what I could find it is related to an ad associated with "daily-health-news.info"

I keep getting redirected to a weight loss web site. I know I could stand to drop five pounds or so, but that's rather blunt, don't you think?

I was experiencing the redirected the other day. But I notice Sandy was online at the same time. And I think he might have some thing to do about stopping the redirect.

I had the same problem, but it only happened in certain sections of the site- the DC 2015 thread, Marvel 2015 thread, and the Ninjago:Masters of Spinjitzu show thread. I thought it was a virus on my computer, but I checked and it came up clean. It kept taking me to the Good Housekeeping website. I hope this issue has been cleared up- I want to be able to view these sections!

I have been redirected twice to a Anti-aging cream website by visiting page 3 of the Adventure & Action theme forum... is any one else having this problem?

From what I understand about the problem, if it is the same as the one I had, it is due to an ad. The ads are different for different people, different parts of the website, and different at different times. This means that it is often hard to sort out the problem. There are also type of malicious software, viruses, and similar stuff that can do similar things (though these tend to be more wide reaching).

For what it is worth, If I remember correctly the place I was redirected to was an anti-aging creme so I think this is just the ad I mentioned above.

Definitely some form of website malware. If I click anywhere in the white space of eurobricks, the site auto-redirects to an ad-based faux-journalism site. This only occurs on the Eurobricks site. Super annoying when clicking between active windows.

This happens to me as well. I thought it was my iPad, so I deleted a bunch of web data hoping expunge the ad redirect, but it keeps happening.

I would recommend getting this http://www.ghostery.com/ I don't think that just clearing out your cache will get rid of the ad trackers which is what is causing the problem. Could also be you are logged into Google at the same time. I realized later I was logged in when I was having the problem, something I don't usually do on this device.

Some lemode-mgz or something when I tried to go to the Ultra Agents 2015 topic. Annoying because when I tried to back out, it continued to re-direct me.
