Hod Carrier Posted July 24, 2015 Great vehicles. All you need now is a space large enough for a container yard. The loader could use a little tweaking, though. Normally these vehicles have a frame on the end of the loading arm that grabs the container at the corners rather than a central hook as you've modelled. JopieK Posted July 24, 2015 Very nice nemo! Good to see that you also found a way to resize them :) The LEGO truck is also a very good find!

Ron Dayes Posted July 24, 2015 Cool, lovely build - allthough i find 6 wide too narrow nemo, considering your standard cars are allready 6 wide, this truck needed to be at least 7 wide, better 8 wide to fit proportions and scaling.
AirborneAFOL Posted July 24, 2015 Very slick loader. My only recommendation for consideration would be moving those handrails to behind the doors - they almost look like oversized rear-view mirrors being in front of the doors. My own harbor / industrial switching yard had a number of forklifts, but they just look comically outmatched amidst containers, and this loader is definitely great inspiration! dr_spock Posted July 24, 2015 Nice work. The mirror holders for the 7992 looking container stacker do look oversized.
Nemo57 Posted July 24, 2015 (edited) Thanks. Trains sorry to disassemble. Scale exemplary - from 6 to 8 as a Lego City = Edited July 24, 2015 by Nemo57
THERIZE Posted July 24, 2015 Cool, lovely build - allthough i find 6 wide too narrow nemo, considering your standard cars are allready 6 wide, this truck needed to be at least 7 wide, better 8 wide to fit proportions and scaling. If it would need to fit proportions and scaling the train would be 10 wide... Great vehicles. All you need now is a space large enough for a container yard. The loader could use a little tweaking, though. Normally these vehicles have a frame on the end of the loading arm that grabs the container at the corners rather than a central hook as you've modelled. a frame is pretty hard to make i think. A hook would be more likely to be handy even though it isn't really realistic. There are LEGO molds for frames but those are 4 wide. I think double hook could be the best of both ways. Hod Carrier Posted July 24, 2015 (edited) Not really, no. This is what I was able to knock up quickly using LDD. It's 16x6 studs, the same dimensions as the top of the containers. The frame is free-swinging on the end of the arm so should always remain level even when not loaded. It's a light construction but it could be beefed up if required. zephyr1934 Posted July 25, 2015 These road vehicles are all great builds. There was someone at Brickworld 2015 that also updated the old Maersk semi and came up with something similar to your semi. I like the two trucks the best, they came out really well (and look at all of those special Maersk parts and stickers). Excellent work. As for the crane lifter, there was a great lego part for that job, I think it was specifically designed for 4 wide containers and might not open all the way out for 6 wide though. And it doesn't work the containers just fall when you lift them...

Hod Carrier Posted July 25, 2015 That looks like a good solution. Can I ask, is that picking up the container using clutch power alone?

Hod Carrier Posted July 25, 2015 (edited) Cool. So you could use almost any design of cradle that you like. Nice work. Edited July 25, 2015 by Hod Carrier
Legotom Posted July 25, 2015 Lovely work. I love Maersk blue, and the lorries (or trucks in American ;) ) look great. Now just need to make a GIANT Maersk ship to load the containers onto.
paul_delahaye Posted July 25, 2015 These Maersk trucks look great, I'd like to see Lego do more partnerships with other companies in the future, I think in general, most companies would be flattered to have there brand made into a Lego set, and I doubt many would expect royalties, more than likely would be happy to receive a couple of 100 copies of the finished set. Yeah, the thing is, both LEGO & Maersk are danish companies.. other than that, who has been in products (that was not merchandise?) Shell, Ferrari? There is some models of single items, but not much, as I think they try to stay as neutral as possible. Octan is not a real brand, as I know..
LEGO Train 12 Volts Posted July 26, 2015 Excellent heavy transport vehicles! The Manitou is my favorite and the coupling system is truly original! The Maersk colors give to your collection a further value!

Cars - 6, trucks - 8 Train -? ??? If this model falls from a shelf, it can kill. Accidentally. Width - 10, length - 100. JHS_NL Posted July 27, 2015 just a hoax? :classic: comfortably! Wow you did a great job there! Like this a lot. Would it work side-ways like in the Mearsk picture earlier in this topic?
Feuer Zug Posted July 28, 2015 I like your setup. Lots of capabilities for play here. The container mover is an awesome vehicle, and it only got better. As a side note, I recently found a pair of 1851 Maersk trucks and your design comes very close. Great work and brick on.
