Ar Sparfel Posted January 31, 2010 Here is my second maxifig (I really like building maxifigs, despite the number of bricks). I wanted to build a rebel pilot because of the colours. My Stormtrooper was great but too white. I decided to choose one whith shiny colours. The rebel pilot was the best one among the old star wars minifigs. This is the final version. For this maxifig, I made three versions : - the first one with the torso which was too flat, so I decided to make it with raised patterns. - the second one was devote to the helmet, the first one was too thin on the sides. - the third version is due to my son, I helped him to built a maxi spiderman and I realised my pilot was four bricks too high. (my stormtrooper is also four bricks too high, I'll have to rebuilt it). So the week-end, I've rebuilt the torso of this maxifig. Here is the result.

Inconspicuous Posted January 31, 2010 Fantastic Maxifig Ar Sparfel! I am simply speechless. The torso detailing is fantastic and the helmet is spot on. I bet that took an incredible amount of orange to build. Awesome job!
Ar Sparfel Posted January 31, 2010 I bet that took an incredible amount of orange to build. Well, some bricklink stores have no more orange bricks left

RileyC Posted January 31, 2010 Wow this is amazing work again! ,I just love all the orange it looks much better than just white from a stormie. I like how the control panel on him sticks out it looks really cool. Great work again!
sok117 Posted January 31, 2010 WOW!!!! you are so good at this, wish I had that many bricks. I can't wait to see your next maxifig, Han Solo would be pretty cool, or Darth Vader. How about Slave Leia
CELESTRIAL Posted February 1, 2010 I think by far this is the best Maxifig i have ever seen. I'm not much into these, but you cant look past the amount of detail and accuracy gone into this !! it looks amazing, very well done
Ar Sparfel Posted February 1, 2010 (edited) Thanks for comments Han Solo would be a good idea. For a Darth Vader maxifig, I'd like to built one, but with all this black, I think it would not be as great as the other maxifigs. It could be a great challenge. lego-maniac Posted February 1, 2010 Congratulation Ar Sparfel, you've really done a good work ! your maxifig(S) are really awesome and I hope you'll present here ALL the star wars Family Maxifig. Dart Vader is a good idea but too much black will be difficult to "understand" I really think that Han Solo or Chewbi will be a good idea. Looking for your work ! def Posted February 1, 2010 Stunning work! You captured it perfectly. Looking forward to your next piece
Big Cam Posted February 1, 2010 Excellent!! Just as impressive as the trooper, except it's Luke!! It literally looks like a giant minifig, no complaints, and nothing to add, it is what it is. Great work, really impressive.
drdavewatford Posted February 1, 2010 Love it ! Superb effort, and I'm impressed that you have so many orange bricks ! The detailing on the torso is excellent, and you have captured the face and overall proportions perfectly. I'm looking forward to your next creation. I agree that Vader would be cool, but your artistry and all the detail would probably be lost amongst all those black bricks. Dr. D.
blueandwhite Posted February 1, 2010 Well this is about the best use of orange bricks I have ever laid my eyes on. Kudos for making such an incredible Maxifig!

Legostein Posted February 1, 2010 Hello! That's quite a big fig. From what I can see it's quite movable. Head is turning, arms and hands too. Can he move the legs, too? Cheers, ~ Christopher
Ar Sparfel Posted February 2, 2010 From what I can see it's quite movable. Head is turning, arms and hands too. Can he move the legs, too? In fact, only, the hands, the arms, the head can move. The helmet can be removed too. Fot the legs, it could be an interesting challenge. But, I only use the officiel maxifig instruction to built my maxifigs, and in the officiel set, the legs don't move. Thanks all for comments.
