luppy Posted August 27, 2013 Hi I tried searching but could not find the answer I have only just discovered LDD and was wondering whether it was possible to create something with a motor and then animate it so I could see how it would move? e.g. Add motor and battery box and an axel with a wheel, then start that motor and see the wheel spin Or does this feature not exist in LDD Thanks a lot Luppy
Calabar Posted August 27, 2013 No, LDD don't allow to create animations. Nonetheless there is the chance to use some tool, tought for other uses, to simulate some simple animations. You can found something among LDD Tricks. A software with native animation function is SR 3D Builder instead. To access to the animation console and all the animation functions without limits, you need the commercial version.

3DKiwi Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) I would suggest exporting parts from Leocad in obj format into a proper 3D program and animating it in that. While I have SR Builder getting a decent output is almost impossible. Here's a preview render I made using Cinema 4D from parts that I modelled myself. I have yet to do a full / final rendered animation. Engine Animation Approx 8mb Edited August 28, 2013 by 3DKiwi
Calabar Posted August 28, 2013 Powray is good for animations too, see for example here. Anyway maybe he don't wanted to obtain a static video, but an interactive way to "play" with the model.
