Lego Dino 500 Posted May 24, 2015 I remember a topic from a few months ago about someone who managed to fit the PF battery box under the train base on a MOC of theirs. I've been trying to find it, using the search box, google, and just about every word combination I can think of, but I still can't find it. Can anyone help me? I'd like to use this on a MOC soon. Which PF battery box? The AAA or the AA or rechargeable?
Lego Dino 500 Posted May 24, 2015 They were using the triple a box. They had managed to mount it sideways between the trucks of a train base, so they could have more room for a interior.
M_slug357 Posted May 24, 2015 I remember reading/seeing that somewhere too... Did you search flickr? I think there were concept fotos on there... But yeah, I can't remember if that guy mounted the AAA bat box under a 6x28 train base, or if he made his own base... :/
Lego Dino 500 Posted May 24, 2015 I remember it was a 6x28 train base.

Aaron Posted May 24, 2015 You could always just build the base out of normal plates.
Duq Posted May 24, 2015 Yes you could. But the post specifically mentioned a standard train base. Also, making the base out of normal plates doesn't change the fact that the floor of the carriage needs to be much higher to fit the battery box underneath. That's what I wanted to show with the illustration.
WholeWheatLego Posted May 26, 2015 Is the AA box smaller (in width) than the AAA box? That might have been what he used...
Heppeng Posted May 27, 2015 It was the AAA box and he did have to raise the plate to accomodate it.

That's what I wanted to show with the illustration. I understand this, however, it is my preference to offer practical, working solutions to problems rather than reiterating the impossible aspects. Plates provide enough flexibility to hollow out the center so that the battery box can be straddled partially above and below the base. I don't have a battery box to test currently, but would it fit in the cutout?
