Silent Nomad Posted February 5, 2015 (edited) A few days ago I got the idea to isolate the minikit achievements from the ends of LB3 level playthrough videos. I then used some of those videos to recreate the models that they build using LEGO Digital Designer. Not all of the pieces needed to make all the models exist in the right colors in real life, but it's probably just a matter of time. Here are my most successful recreations so far. I'm not sure about some of the colors on two of them, but that can be fixed later. I'll add more as I make them. -Nomad Edited May 7, 2015 by Silent Nomad
Silent Nomad Posted March 24, 2015 Is no one interested in this at all?
lowbike1 Posted March 24, 2015 I am, keep them coming!
Silent Nomad Posted March 25, 2015 You should try some yourself. They're really fun to figure out. If you trim some free play youtube videos down to the minikit builds at the end they're only about twelve seconds long. How I did it is I just paused the video and selected sections to look at in order to first see how a section was built, then where and how it went onto the previous section(s). I'm thinking of maybe doing it for the Lord of the Rings minikit that's a Sauron bust (I forget which level that is), but I think that's the only one from that game I'm interested in. I'm curious about what kinds of minikits the Pirates of the Caribbean game has, and maybe Indiana Jones and Harry Potter too.
Silent Nomad Posted April 5, 2015 Well, this one isn't from LB3, but I made the Hero Super-Kit from the first Lego Batman video game, which is Wayne Manor. The only piece that I wasn't sure about is the one making the windows, because it's not as simple as the piece I used, but I couldn't find it in LDD, so I used the backward headlight brick you see in the image. I'm not sure I'll put it in the first post, since it's not from LB3, which is the main focus of the topic. montgocloud Posted April 7, 2015 I would be interested to see someone try their hand at the micro-vignettes seen during the loading screens. I would try it myself, but I don't have the eye or the patience.
Silent Nomad Posted April 8, 2015 I haven't tried that with LB3, but I tried it with the Lego Marvel game, and I think I got the X-Mansion almost completed. I ran into some trouble with the finishing touches on the roof, though.
Zilcho Posted April 8, 2015 Awesome! I love the bat rocket especially
Silent Nomad Posted April 9, 2015 Think I should put up the LDD files for them? I'm also thinking of uploading the 12 second (in most cases) clips I used to build them to YouTube. I need to update the '66 Batmobile image too
Legocity2713 Posted May 6, 2015 Very nice. I love the boat and 1966 kits. Also, I love the rocket. I would love to see them all.
Silent Nomad Posted May 7, 2015 Some of them, like the Eiffel Tower, Watchtower, and most of the lantern central batteries, are either not possible in LDD, or very hard to make. I think the bottled city is too detailed, and the Fortress of Solitude might be as well. I might try the 75th Anniversary cake or Bizarro World next, but what you see so far is all of what I have completed and presentable.
