Vector LEGO logos

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am new to EB.

I have created some LEGO vector logos and thought I'd share it :-)

There's the list of the available vectors:

Main folder: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/oleth/vector/

Space http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/oleth/vector/Space/

blacktron_i

blacktron_ii

classic-space (needs work)

ice_planet

insectoids

mtron_m

space_police_i

space_police_ii

space_port

Misc http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/oleth/vector/Misc/

rockraiders

western

All the shapes were created with Inkscape (open source software) and the SVG format is universal.

============================================

Firefox (the browser) can display the SVG files correctly. In order to edit them you'll need a vector image editor like Inkscape, Illuistrator, CorelDraw etc.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome!

These are really impressive! *wub*

Wonder if pov-ray can use SVG for textures directly.. in that case they could be very useful :-)

Great work Oleth! Any chance of making the airline logo like in my avatar? There are multiple versions of it I've found, with the yellow circle (assumed to be the sun) either in front of or behind the green clouds. I consider behind the green to be the correct version as it's more common in sets.

Yes, it is. 1772 Airport Catering Truck is one set with it; it's also in 1773, 1774, 1775 and 1818, amongst others. That logo was used by all the airline promotional sets of the 1990s and early 2000s. Probably in more sets than the classic airline logo now that I think of it. Good straight-on pictures of it are rare, I've found. My avatar is actually a photo of the piece with it from 1772!

I didn't knew this line *wacko*

It would be easier if I had a better (than the avatar) resolution picture. If you had one, I could draw accurate details (instead of improvising :)

I have uploaded a higher resolution photo (.jpg) in my brickshelf folder. A .bmp is in there too under the avatar folder (link in signature). If you need an even higher resolution scan, it may be awhile because I don't have a scanner.

I'm surprised you didn't know the line, though I didn't either until I discovered websites like Peeron (and spent a lot of time randomly browsing there :-D )

That pic is fine! I'll do it tomorrow.

When you do this, post a photo!!

Ok! It came out quite well. However, something in the perspective troubles me.

A small update.

I added KK2 logos which are a bit lame, more especially their color combination. However the KK2 wolf on the triangular shield is simply awesome. I personally think it's one of the best ever TLG produced (again it's ruined from the puprle color combinations, that's why I simply changed it)

I have also converted to vector MCN's template of the minifig body (I said I would do it, but then I forgot it in my hard disk). Thus, the road opens for minifig vector customization, yeah :P

Also now all the templates will be in the Misc directory.

Finally I would like to note that there is a small bug in the armada logo. Some SVG viewers show it without problems, but some show it a bit distorted. For example Firefox shows it distrorted. I'll further investigate this...

Thanks so much for these. Roaglaan was kind enough to make me a template for creating Euroarmor designs and I was doing a search and I found this. I'm slowly saving all the Castle images and I'll be sure to give you credit.
