MOC: The Sacred Wheel

Recommended Posts

Backstory:

In the year 1896, the skeleton-people found this steam paddler wreck. Their leaders chose it to be one of their most major religious sites. Thousands of skeleton-person pilgrims travel to the Wheel each year.

Every year at the Celebration of Fear, all of the skeleton wizards come together and use their powers to restore the Wheel's color and quality back to the day of its finding.

Red is a sacred color to the skeleton-people, the only thing they lack... blood.

This is a MOColympics (huge contest on MOCpages) entry... against Dave Kaleta... Yup. I lost. :cry_sad:

Wow! You've got tons of clever techniques worked into this scene. The "wheel" is particularly cool. The mottling of colors for the sea floor is very effective too, and the red seaweed is a nice backdrop too, setting the scene edge. Cool seahorse too btw. Dave Kaleta is a formidable opponent, so there's no shame in placing behind him.

I'm a conformist! Flare!

Great creation, but yeah the one that won is AWESOME !

But I agree with 'Blackicep8ntball' about the paddle wheel - very clever designing.

Plenty of action and detail here, great work and I'm a conformist! 'Flare' I'm a conformist! ! :sweet:

Very nice MOC Flare, I love this colorful underwater scene. I just can't help but notice the tall stacked trans-clear panels, which is cleverly built to simulate the boat at the water surface but at the same time looks kinda unstable (right?). Anyways, very good job!

You definitely did a good job, and it was always going to be tough against Dave Kaleta, but you by no means disgraced yourself. Some really nice techniques Flare.

Cheers

ISC.

Thanks KielDaMan! It is fairly unstable, sometimes it fell over when I tried to move it (a simple fix was to take it off and then put it back on when I had moved it ) Thanks for the comment!
