[MOC] Gallipoli Landings 1915-WW1 Diorama

Recommended Posts

This Diorama depicts one of the lesser known campaigns of World War 1, the Gallipoli Campaign. From Wikipedia:

The Gallipoli Campaign, also known as the Dardanelles Campaign, was a campaign of World War I that took place on the Gallipoli peninsula in the Ottoman Empire between 25 April 1915 and 9 January 1916. Britain and France launched a naval attack followed by an amphibious landing on the peninsula with the eventual aim of capturing the Ottoman capital of Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul). The naval attack was repelled and, after eight months' fighting, with many casualties on both sides, the land campaign also failed and the invasion force was withdrawn to Egypt.

Nicely done! Well-captured. I'd like to see more WWI dioramas.

But I wouldn't exactly call it a "lesser known campaign", as I consider it to be the exact opposite: one of the campaigns most often mentioned from WWI...

Nice work! I especially like the technique you used for the sandbags, and the artillery piece is nicely done too.

But I have to agree with Hive that Gallipoli is among the better known campaigns of the war...

That looks fantastic! I particularly like the little details like the slouch hats. A fantastic MOC with the centenary coming up

I commend you on your work 'Artizan', though the landing boats were more like this.......

ch3_001.jpg

At least there aren't any dead soldiers yet in the foreground or background........like when they did land in the early hours of the morning the Turks cut down the ANZAC forces landing.

The Gallipoli landings are a failure, but months later the withdraw was not with only one ANZAC dying from an illness.

Brick On 'Artizan' !

Thanks everyone :classic:.

I love the ship! Are you offering instructions?

Well I think it's a very basic building style so I don't think it necessarily requires any instructions to make, maybe except for the round ship windows.
