"The attack in the market place made me realize that our troops need better training" said Zeb, the new captain of the Dalig Ulv archers.

"That's why I brought you out here," responded Chalin.

He climbed the hill to the storehouse. There wasn't enough room at the archer's barracks to practice any kind of long ranged shooting, so they had built a storehouse in one of the fields near the town.

He pulled quivers, arrows, and bows out and passed them around to the archers.

"Alright men," began Chalin. "Today Natolyth has agreed to help train you against magic users."

"To started with," said Natolyth, "I will be sending this bewitched crow's carcass out over your heads. As you shoot at it I will be pushing at you with my power. Try to resist me and hit the moving object at the same time."

OoC: This is the largest chunk of snot rockwork I've attempted to date. Let me know what you think.

The snots pretty good. The ground is very brown though, perhaps a little more green. I like your archers and crossbow men, there cool. Wheres the head piece from? The snot wood walls are nice.

Nice build, MKJosh!

The snotwork looks good, as does the storehouse. My only suggestion is maybe sticking to one colour per layer. I like the use of CMF baseplates for the roof. Considering how many of those I own, I might just have to try that

Great job, keep it up! :classic:

Nice build, MKJ!

I like the SNOT work, but I also would like to see Sir Gareth's suggestion to stick to one color per layer (mostly), as it looks splotchy right now, and most landscape like this would likely be layered. I also would suggest incorporating some slopes studs on top to break up the perfectly horizontal layers somewhat, though this is not easy and not necessary for a build of this size. The ground could use a little bit more detail as well.

I like those pine trees and the storage shed looks nice. I also have plans to use the CMF baseplates for roofing. I thought of this long ago and have not yet had the chance to incorporate it. It is nice to see how good it looks.

The minifigures look really nice and very Mitgardian!

Indeed, where did you get those helmets?

The helmets are from the Adventurers: Orient Expedition line, specifically from Ngan Pa, the Yeti hunter from set 7417 Temple on Mount Everest.

Nice build, MKJ, those are some cool Mitgardian archers

I agree with the others that the snot rock would be improved by more consistency, and by being mixed with some studs up rock (here is a good example).

Nice build! I like the figs, and the snot-work isn't bad. The shaping is good, but fewer colours might be an idea! The story is cool too!

Thanks for answering the question about the helmets!

Nice SNOT work, the storehouse is good to, well done :)

That is indeed a very good example. I'll keep experimenting with the technique.

Yes, fewer colors would have been good. Unfortunately this build took all of my earthtone slopes to complete. That tells me a couple things. 1) Either I need to try this on a smaller scale using the earth tones or buy more of them  And 2) I can probably do better using bleys, since I have a lot more of the slope pieces in that color.

Thank you all for your feedback. I'll keep working on improving. What do you all think of the orange background? I'm still trying out some of the new colors of posterboard I bought.

Nice build! And excellent story too! The snot rockwork looks good, though i feel it could use a little less colors (the tan is feeling out of place) Love the texture of the storehouse door.

Too me the bank looks more like dirt than rock and a very good dirt bank at that  I think the numerous colors work pretty well, though it may have looked better without the dark tan.

Very good landscape :classic:
