Town mod?

Recommended Posts

Ok, I am a little worried about my beloved town forum....

This regularly the place to chat about Town and trains, but these days all the talk is dominated about the EN. One mindless thread after another is created about this subject. It kinda feels like spam. It also seems that most of the posters in these threads are well below the required age of 18. I also noticed that the people who made the town forum a lovely place to be in the past (Hobbes, Snef and many others are simply not here anymore). It annoys me, in the past the T&T forum was a had not many threads but they were always of high quality now we have a lot of silly & spammy threads.

Are there still mods for the trains and town forum?

Can we give these military freaks there own forum?

Is there a way to make a more strict rule that this place is not swarmed with kids?

I would say the trouble has sub-sided now. Not all the posters in those threads were "kids" or "military freaks", but just people that wanted to create their own armies and show them to the rest of EB. The spammy threads have been locked now, and all the chat is confined to one thread, so there shouldn't be much trouble, as many people including me are currently figuring out how to organise it.

I apoligise for the trouble, but it seems the forum has returned now, with some great reviews on the postal plane and holiday house, as well as some impressive town mocs :-)

I also think that this sudden burst should be considered a good thing that just got off to a shaky start, as it is a great idea, but little did we realise the popularity behind it. I apoligise again for this, and hope I haven't seemed rude, but I just think that a couple of hectic days shouldn't call for drastic changes nor further arguing, as this would only, In my opinion atleast, escalate a problem that is already being reigned under control :-)

Nothing to Say, but Batbrick Away! >:-)

Sorry if the EN has spoiled enjoyment - it was certainly never my intention to allow the idea to swamp the Town forum - I never anticipated this much interest in the idea. Alas, there was nowhere else really relevant to post the EN concept - sorry. I'll get my coat.

It's not your fault, Doctor. :-$ I think the EN is a great idea, and a good concept, but it turned out to become a heaven for spammers.. :-/

Edit: I think Hinckley is already doing a great job as a town mod.

Well no problem. We're currently studying your demand for a town mod

Thanks! We miss the days of Hobbes.

Dr S, It is not your fault that it got out of hand. It is all those kids who shouldn't have been here in the first place. But I guess there is no certain way to check if somebody is 18+

Thanks for your concern highlandcattle but I think it's pretty well under control now. There are only a couple active threads now and we are developing guidelines to keep it more organized and keep so many threads from popping up. No need for more strict rules, IMO. We like to not have too many rules around here. It has only been a few days since the EN started and it only produced a handful of threads so please be patient while we organize it. Thanks. :-)
