When battling armies of Droids, out manned and out gunned you need the Clone Walker to lend a little fire power and turn the tide of battle.
This set was released on 6/09/2009 as a free promo with a select few newspapers including the Daily and Sunday Mirror. It was available to collect from WH Smith & Toys 'r' us Stores on this day.
1. Bag and instructions
Your Standard full colour Polybag

And the back

On the tiny instruction you can see the piece numbers on the pages just like in any impulse set

The other side

2. Minifigs, set overview and parts
Just an overall shot of the set. A nice feature is that the front section and legs can be positioned in many different poses.

The Front. I like the single blaster canon

And side. Here you can see the seat better. Nice tan upholstery.

The Clone minifig. Misprinted eyes are some what common now.

Pieces. Another nice selection of parts for a promo. An extra saber hilt is always nice.

The Spares. Unlike yesterday's promo, the Imperial Speeder, this set had 2 spare pieces.

3. The Build
Here's my build walk through
Step 1-2. This is just the vehicles base and where the minifig will sit.

Step 3-4. We add the control sticks and the base of a hinge similar to the Imperial Speeder build so far.

Step 4.5. We now build the set back. Not how instead of using 2 individual clips a double clip is used.

Step 5. Simply attach what was built in step 4.5.

Step 6-7. Flip the structure over and attach 2 bar pieces that can be clipped on to. Also a 1x4 is added on for extra strength.

Step 8. We attach the canon, it's built from a paddle sort of piece and a lightsaber hilt.

Step 8.5. We build the section that will attach to the front. It looks fairly sleek thanks to the sloping piece.

Step 9. Attach the front section that was just constructed.

Step 9.5. Build the 2 identical legs. Not very interesting but the cheese slopes are quite nice.

Step 10-11. Attach the 2 legs and place the minifig at the controls.

4.Final Thoughts & Comparison
Here's a shot next to yesterday's promo

And a shot so you can see the height of the walker.

Build 8/10 However small this maybe, the build isn't bad
Minifigs 9/10 Some sort of weapon for the clone would have been nice or some sort of clone scout might have been good too
Design 8/10 For such a small walker this looks pretty good
Parts 7/10 A few special pieces included
Price 10/10 Free promo, love it
Playability 8/10 Can be easily mixed with other sets but isn't to much on it's own
Overall 50/60 = Excellent Thanks to the Clone and nice design this set scored fairly high.
There are some reasons a small walker is so bad
