Do you mean Disney's Lone Ranger? Because it'd make sense that TLG would do another Disney film tie-in.

More Johnny Depp minifigures!

Why is he called the Lone Ranger, when he always had Tonto with him?

This is awesome!

Even tho I know next to nothing of the lisence. should give us some cool molds and minifigures!  I hope we get Johnny minifig with the bird on the head(even if one without a bird would be reusable).

For gods sake, lets hope the mods keep the discussion for this theme in the HISTORY forum, otherwise they are being incredibly inconsistent.

From what I've read about the development of the film it may deviate quite a bit from the original character/show. There was talk of supernatural elements... so imagine a 'Pirates of the Caribbean' style western...

Werewolves, zombies and Johnny Depp as Tonto with a dead crow stuck to his headress.

Actually some of the supernatural stuff isn't going to be in the final film. Werewolves and zombies were cut from the story due to budget issues if I remember correctly.

As happy as I am for this theme, I'm still hoping we get some Oz: The Great and Powerful sets.

I only ever buy lisenced sets/minifigs so I'm excited,  I do enjoy seeing all the non lisenced stuff lego makes tho, I just don't feel a need to own it.

This is exciting news! I really enjoyed the old western theme. I expect that we'll get some different colored horses (which would be great). I wonder how this theme will affect the upcoming Cuusoo decision from the summer review?

Johnny Depp's hair in this film looks a lot like Jack Sparrow's (plus the headband), but unfortunately because of the bird, the piece can't be reused. Too bad for that, it would be nice to see that part reused in another fig.

Theres also the diference btween dreads and flat hair       The Hippie hair would be a better fit, but the headband doesent look right.

I was thinking about its shape, plus the feather on the side resembles Jack's little thing in his hair on his right (I don't know what it is,  maybe a piece of carved bone?)

I'm pretty excited about this, mainly because most reports I've read about the movie have said that it will, "feature one of the biggest locomotive train setpieces ever to be put on film."  Hopefully, that translates into a few LEGO train sets.  I honestly wouldn't doubt if that ends up being the 'flagship' set of the wave, actually.  Can't wait to see what comes out of this.

Is that still in the movie?    I remember there being talk about it being insanely expensive, aswell as the being budget cuts or soemthing?

As someone else noted, will be interesting seeing what happens with the cuusoo western set.

If this is going to be a licensed theme, then it might be bad news for Marshall's (generic) Modular Western Town as they might not want competing western themed kits (just as Pirates is on hold until PotC plays out and LotR is the new Castle series)  I hope it doesn't, I'd take a generic "West" over a Disney "West" any day, but at least its something.

I'm holding out for a nice western style steam train...

I have CuuSoo page with several Lord of the Rings MOCs,

Why not drop by and throw some votes of support my way; the sooner these guys get to 10,000, the sooner TLG can reject them and we can all get on with our lives.

The Modular Western Town would probably be a D2C set, which means the target audience would be different, so there wouldn't be much competition.

This is an interesting turn of events, It will be nice to see more western, it will be less fun and or annoying because it's licensed.  :sceptic:

Thank you for the pics concerning the movie! :classic:

Two things:

1. Looking at these pictures, I fear the worst concerning my wish for a decent and realistic Western theme. I'll wait and see. But in principle it's for me already dead now since this has nothing to do with the Wild West but only with fantasy.

2. I really, really hope that the CUSOO project will nevertheless be released - it would be a shame if TLG didn't!
