[MOC] Dark Pyramid

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I love MOCs with a narrative of sorts. I always seem to return to the subject of Lego mini figs discovering something weird.

Here is a little MOC inspired by 80's schlock horror Galaxy of Terror. Hope ya like it ;)

Looks very good. The terrain has the "feel" of being created in a lego-filmstudio, so that seems to work  Perspective is excellent too. I can almost hear a creepy synth-tune swelling as the pyramid gets into focus :classic:

Like the forced perspective.

Cheers :)

Agreed with the above post. The terrain is also really nice.

Thx buddy.

Cheers :)

Yeah, I did make it like a little film set. A creepy synth tune would be perfect.

Looks great. I think some more detailing in the sky would really improve it through.

Yeah, but how do you build a Lego sky? I have been thinking about that one for ages.

Nice job. I haven't seen Galaxy Of Terror but I hear it was James Cameron's first movie as production designer - I can see the similarities to Aliens even in your moc.

Yup he worked on the effects crew. Check it out on Netflix if you feel like a laugh.

I think the technique I used here ( https://www.flickr.c...eposted-public/ ) would work well if placed far enough back in a forced perspective.

Yeah it might work, I mean it would be easy just to photoshop some clouds in but I generally like to keep it brick based when I can. Still if the clouds where Lego and slightly out of focus that could work right? I must give it a try :)
