LDD shows black and strangely colored spaces around a model

Recommended Posts

Hi Eurobricks

when I opened the .lxf file of various modular buildings and zoomed in on it the following happened

When zoomed out enough it looks fine: i.imgur.com/j7H4Btc.png

Does someone know why it looks like that and what I could do about it? :sceptic:

P.S: I'm new here so please forgive me any mistakes :look:

Hi MrTotoro,

I do use a Mac laptop although I'm no expert, I think your graphics card is actually a part of the processor rather than a dedicated graphics card and therefore controlled by the Mac Operating system. There's no way (so far as I know) to update the drivers

I've never seen a problem like this before myself, but you could perhaps try this:

Under Lego Digital Designer->Preferences

Try disabling any high quality rendering

Try dragging the "Compatability mode level" slider to the right and restarting (this may repair/reset the grid) If it works, move the compatibility slider back to theleft and restart to return to normal

Last resort: Uninstall LDD (Back up all your MOCs first!!!) and reinstall it.

Hope this helps

Hi!

Firstly, thanks for your reply!

Secondly, I'm no expert either (obviously, lol), but those two were listed seperately..

I tried unchecking the two high quality boxes and it worked! It doesn't look that nice anymore though haha

Additionally, I tried the compatability slider but didn't notice any change so I dragged it to the left again.

This: http://i.imgur.com/5Wdt0sT.png is how the project thumbnail looks like (orange brick + warning sign). It's working though...
