I'm sure this is a very stupid question... Z Axis?

Recommended Posts

Sorry I've checked the help, online and cant seem to find it. I thought PgUp and PgDown used to move parts along the Z-Axis. Not anymore (running 4.3). Am I complete idiot? X, Y, rotate, sure fine, but I seem to be unable to move pieces along the Z axis.

Thank you

You should specify which software are you referring to, at least.

This section deal with a multitude of LEGO CAD software.

Try to expose your problem clearly and using examples and screenshots, if necessary.

Please edit the topic title with something that in brief describe the problem.

Did you try with advanced editing?

Anyway... suggest a title, I can edit it for you! :classic:

About LDD version, is it the last one? (LDD 4.3.6)

I don't recall ever having this feature. I just went a tried a couple of old versions, and those keys had no effect in any of them.

As far as I know, the only way to move a piece along the z-axis is to get it to snap to another piece. So if you want something "floating" up above the floor of your model, you have to build some type of scaffold, attach the piece, and then delete the scaffold.

The 'floor' plane will be pushed down automatically as you add parts, so as long as you build with the right side up, you'll be fine.
