Jakorin Swiftsword Posted March 5, 2015 Jakorin Swiftsword, lord of Anvilon, sits stunned at the news just delivered to him by his leader of intel and recon division. Speechless, he slumps back in his chair with an exasperated sigh. Jakorin: "Flagg is dead! It seems impossible. But if what you say is true, Carlene, I fear all of Kaliphlin is in turmoil. The resurrection of a sunken civilization and the aggressive moves of the Desert King only make it all the worse. And on top of all that, the countryside has been racked with natural disasters." Carlene: "My intel is irrefutable, my lord. All my sources are reliable and true to every word." Jakorin: "I have full faith in your words, Carlene. Curse it all! This could not have come at a worse time! The dwarves and Drow occurrence is still at large here in Avalonia." Carlene: "What shall you have me do, m'lord?" Jakorin leaned forward on his desk, arms folded in front of him, his face twisted with thought. Finally, he raised a finger. Jakorin: "If you would, Carlene, summon General Boris and his nephew." Carlene raised an eyebrow curiously but did not question him as she left the room. A few moments later, both the boy, Derrick, and Boris entered, followed by the leader of intel and recon. Boris: "Yes m'lord? You summoned us? Did Derrick cause any more trouble?" Derrick, the boy, fidgeted uncomfortably as his uncle placed a hand on his shoulder. But Jakorin waved an assuring hand. Jakorin: "No, Boris, not this time. But there is some disturbing news I wish to relay to you." As the terrible news of the disasters in Kaliphlin were spoken once more, Boris' face darkened. Boris: "Unspeakable! I'll admit, I've never been one to dabble in the affairs of the sand dwellers, but I truly feel for the council. It must be pure chaos down there!" Jakorin: "Indeed. And it is because of this that Anvilon will lend its services to the council. We will not leave Gideon, Dugal and the like to face this task alone. We will move out in the morning, so assemble what force we can spare." Boris nodded eagerly, but then he remembered Derrick and curiosity covered his face. Boris: "But what of my nephew? He-" Jakorin: "He's coming with us. He will be useful in many ways in a strange land. Besides, were his parents still among us, I'm sure they wouldn't want him held up in this castle forever." Derrick, who'd sat quietly up to this point, felt his face light up. Jakorin noted this and turned to speak at him. Jakorin: "Know this, young one, the wars that are sure to erupt in Kaliphlin will not be pleasant. I will personally train you in everything I know about battle and swordsmanship. And if we all manage to make it back alive, you will not be the same." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Okay guys, here it is, the first of my build for this challenge. And just for the record, Derrick is Sir Brick-A-Lot. Thanks for looking and C and C is always appreciated! Enjoy!
