The man in the turban takes the adventurers to the docks.
"Remember, the agent you will meet is Muhammed al-Din, the blacksmith, unfortunately this is as far as I can take you, I have other business to attend to. Good luck!"

The adventurers embark on a small ship.
"Ahoy!" says someone on the mast."
He climbs down the ratline like a spider.
"I am your first mate, the captain is busy."
The ship begins to move and soon Eubric is far from sight. The ocean is a brilliant shiny blue.


"Wow, this is amazing!" states Sylph Solanum.
"Never been this far out of Eubric eh?" replies the 1st mate.

Adventurers- state your actions and speech and confirm that you are ready. You may ask questions about the ship and venture anywhere you'd like.

Amorith has never been on the open ocean, being more at home in the trees and he feels a bit agoraphobic with nothing but open sky and waves around him.
He asked the first mate if the heroes were allowed access to the captains quarters and the type, size and amount of crew on the vessel.
He also looked at his fellow adventures and asked if any of them were the seasick type, always good to know

After a brief sabbatical to the side of the boat, Sylph returned looking relieved.
"Very well,  As group leader, I should become acquainted with my party's special skills and motives. Let's see who I know here.... Nyx. Well, We've got time. By the looks of things we've got a long, strange trip ahead of us. May the porcelain god be on our side."

[Zepher]

"Is there any booze on the ship?  I'm getting a little sea-sick and need to calm my nerves and make any wenches you may have on board look prettier."   "Also, I'm afraid I forgot to tell you that I spent some money and upgraded my sword before we left!  Please take note of it!"  Boomingham shuffles off to the kitchen to see if anything worth while is brewing.

In answer to your question, I am not a particularly good fighter but I have always been at home in the cold, not the best attribute for a desert mission but my innate power allows me to stay cool and hydrated in the harshest of conditions.
Amorith wonders when the other heroes will speak up.

Barur looks at his fellow adventurers 'Good bunch' he thought to himself. He had arrived to the ship just in time before departure,for he barely missed his name written for the quest. 'First quest and already of to sea' he wandered 'Pretty good start,I like the ocean'.
Turning to is companions(he knew only a few and by sight) he presented himself 'I Barur of Clan Tormek,it is a pleasure to venture with you all'.He then focused on the first mate 'Shall we go and see the captain now?'

"The captain shall be ready in a few minutes. Also, we shall reach our destination in no more than three days, if the wind stays true. Now, we don't carry alcohol, it is against our beliefs." replies the first mate.
And to your previous question, the ship is only transporting a type of waxy paper.

The real action will start once everyone confirms, or by later today if they don't. This is why I started it early.

'Nice to meet you Amorith' Barur started noticing the other heroes of the assembled party...except for him and the good elf he just met all were experienced heroes from the quests he heard tell about in the hall. This took off some of the ansiousness that the dwarf had from this being is first quest. He sat at the bow,smoking from his limestone carven pipe and gazed at the sea before them.
'My good elf, your people are wiser than my own, what can we expect of this desert endeavour?'

Unfortunately, your question is interrupted by sudden shouting! What could possibly raise alarm at the evening of an ocean voyage?
"Everyone get to the hold and hide!" exclaims the first mate. "Heroes, our trip is interrupted by fierce corsairs. We must fight, or lose our ship!"

Though before the engagement, Bang! A bolt appears in the railing of the ship- a crossbow. The heroes see a purple clad figure running to get a better shooting position? Could it be? That the Bacari figure indeed became a pirate?

" Ok Party,  Plans! Tormek and Marvelo, why don't you both target the Crewman? I'll take the Thug (from the front row) and Boomingham, you can go for the Swashbuckler. Nyx, as you have a ranged attack, I'd like you to strike Bacari, the traitor, from the back row with the power of your Amethyst. This should raise the effectiveness of our party. If anyone sees a flaw in my plan, feel free to point it out.

Apologies, gentleman, I've been trying to hold onto my breakfast.    Sylph, it is good to see you again.

Nyx bows her head slightly to the cleric.

And Boomingham!  Yes, I remember you and your wandering hands!  However, I hear good things about your honour in battle from my good friend Rufindel, so I'm sure we'll get along just fine.   Amorith and Barur, it is good to meet fellow magic users, and I look forward to questing with you.

Whirling round, Nyx faces her old questing companion, fire in her eyes.

As for you Bacari!  I wondered what happened to you and I'm sorely disappointed to see you return to your life of crime!  Don't think that any fond memories will stop me from fighting you, though.

I agree Sylph, I shall indeed cast Darkness on Bacari from the back row.

"hahahaha!  I can see that the Bonapartes indeed do a decent job of keeping the sea free of pirates, this is a weak lot!"  I will target Corsair Thug from the front row!

Amorith was excited to finally be part of a battle, he hoped that he would not make a complete fool of himself.

The first mate says, "Boomingham! This is not easy!"

Nyx vs. Bacari - Special Damage
Boomingham vs. Thug - Miss/Damage

Sylph vs. Swashbuckler- Shield/Heal

The heroes are about to face the most epic attack roll fail in Heroica History.   Nyx's attack fails, and Bacari is able to use tripleshot, causing 5 damage to Nyx (backrow) 10 to Boomingham, and another 10 to Sylph. Boomingham, overcome with rage, tries in vain to cut the Thug, but the heaving deck of the ship throws him off balance, and the Thug gets him, causing even more damage. Amorith casts a magic spell on the Crewman, and kills him instantly. (-1 ether) Now Barur's attack switches to a new target- the strongest one, Bacari. The Barur is to slow and gets shot by Bacari's crossbow, the pain distracts him and cannot continue his attack on the pirate. Though it is not over! Sylph the Cleric decides to SHIELD his fellow heroes, and because of the effect, each adventurer is restored to full health. 3 enemies remain.
