Reviving an Old RCX Remote

If you've left your RCX kit sitting for a while, I'm sure many of you may have had this (unfortunate) experience. At first, I thought the remote was dead since, all attempts at changing batteries, did not lead anywhere.

In fact, it was not the remote. It was the RCX brick itself which, after sitting a while with no power, had lost its firmware.

The solution is really easy: connect the IR tower, re-flash the firmware on the RCX, and the remote should work again, as new.

Oh, nice to know. Both my RCX most probably need to be reflashed. Last time I checked, my 1.0 looked dead.

Mine seems to work but i can't be sure until i get my tower working. I don't have a remote to test it with.
