jimmynick Posted September 8, 2014 Players only, please! Trevor Knowles (TrumpetKing) was tending the hull in the missile room. To no-one in particular, he remarked, "I'm glad I have my helmet on at night. Then I won't get my head bashed in, unlike poor Patrick." "Correct," replied a mysterious voice from behind Trevor. Pew! Pew! Pew! And that was the end of Trevor Knowles (TrumpetKing). Malcolm Cooper (Mencot) was fiddling with the radio in his battle station, the radio room. He heard a knock at the door. "Come in," he said. "Hello! My, what a big hammer you have. What are you going to do with it?" asked Malcolm. Clang! Clang! responded the hammer. And that was the end of Malcolm Cooper (Mencot). This time, Thaddeus Mortimore addressed the pitifully shrunken crew. "I am pleased to inform you that Boris was a Soviet Spy, but Trevor and Malcolm were both Loyal Sailors. Keep up the good work, crew!" The NPCs: Jacob Neumann (jamesn) - Commander Thaddeus Mortimore (Tamamono) - Lieutenant Commander The Players: Monty Thornton (mostlytechnic) - Cook Philip Dabney (PirateDave84) - Crewman Jeremy Hollis (jluckhaupt) - Crewman Christopher Milton Poindexter (CallMePie) - Fire Control Officer Spencer Delgado (Speedy) - Quartermaster Edward Grey (Endgame) - Sonar Technician Claire Novak (Calanon) - Steward The Dead: Lloyd Stanton (Lego Spy) - Plot Device Jerry Bergeron (JimBee) - Loyal Sailor Patrick Nash (Peanuts) - Loyal Sailor Adrienne Walton (adventurer1) - Soviet Spy Boris Benson (Bob) - Soviet Spy Trevor Knowles (TrumpetKing) - Loyal Sailor Malcolm Cooper (Mencot) - Loyal Sailor The Rules: 1. Each player will be given a character to play, who will be aligned either with the Loyal Sailors (Town) or the Soviet Spies (Scum). To win the game, the Loyal Sailors must kill off all of the Soviet Spies, while the Spies need to outnumber the Sailors. Third-Party (neutral) characters have their own win conditions as outlined in their roles. 2. Each day you will be able to vote to lynch a player. Voting should be done in the following format: Vote: Character (Player). Similarly, unvoting is to be done in the format: Unvote: Character (Player). No other format will be accepted. A majority vote is required to lynch a player. 3. A game day will last a maximum of 72 hours. You may not vote in the first 24 hours. The day will end when a majority vote has been reached. After the day has concluded, a night stage will commence, which will last a maximum of 48 hours. Night actions must be sent to the host in the first 24 hours of the night stage. 4. The alignment of lynched players, as well as those who died during the night, will be revealed at the beginning of the following day. 5. You may not quote or pretend to quote anything sent to or from you in PM with the game hosts. This includes all the details of your character and role, as well as any night action results. Role claims and reporting of night action results are acceptable, but in your own words only. Do not attempt to use the structure of your role PM to your advantage. 6. Do not play the game outside the thread. Similarly, do not post out of character inside the thread; you must always play the role given to you. Game tactics and roles may only be discussed in the game thread or via PM with other players. Private discussion is done at your own risk and should be treated as part of the game. 7. If you are dead, you may not post in thread or discuss the game with any of the players. Any information you had becomes void, and may not be passed on. 8. You may not edit your posts. 9. You must post in every day thread. 10. If you encounter a problem or have a question, please contact the hosts via PM. 11. Violation of the above rules will result in a vote penalty of half the required majority against you on your first offence, and the death of your character on your second offence. Violation of Rule 7 will have a heavier penalty, made at the discretion of the Games Moderator.

mostlytechnic Posted September 8, 2014 Alright! Got another one... Now, a little info to start off the day. On the puzzle yesterday, I won the code breaking and got a 1 shot investigation ability. I checked out Claire with it, since she's been so inactive. The commander told me she is a loyal sailor. So, with her off the hook, the two people I'm still wavering on are Phil and Edward. Can we just lynch one and have the vig get the other and be done with this hunt? Or anyone have other suspicions we oughta be checking out?
def Posted September 8, 2014 It was the best of times, it was the blurst of times... Gotta go to work right now, more soon.

Endgame Posted September 8, 2014 If there is any questions you'd like answered, I'd be happy to answer them. I can assure you I'm loyal, but I'm assuming at least one or two of you are deadset otherwise.

I can assure you I'm loyal, but I'm assuming at least one or two of you are deadset otherwise. Why were you so defensive yesterday after the one vote (mine)?was cast on you? There was literally 0% chance of your being lynched and you became overly defensive extremely quickly.
Endgame Posted September 9, 2014 Mostly at Malcolm's random statements. Assuming he wouldn't get vig killed, I wanted to see what he would say if we had to confront him Day 3. I legitmately thought he was scum at the time. By being harsher instead of dismissive, I figured I could draw out more of his odd behavior.
jluck Posted September 9, 2014 Vote Tally: Christopher Milton Poindexter (CallMePie): 1 (Bob) Malcolm Cooper (Mencot): 1 (Endgame) Edward Grey (Endgame): 1 (PirateDave84) Boris Benson (Bob): 6 (mostlytechnic, jluckhaupt, CallMePie, Speedy, TrumpetKing, Mencot) With 6 votes, Boris Benson (Bob) has been convicted. A conclusion to the day will be posted shortly. Please submit your night actions within the next 24 hours! Bravo all! I can now confirm that everyone on the bob-wagon was town, between investigations, declarations, and (sadly) deaths. With bob gone who's left? Malcolm Cooper (Mencot): 1 (Endgame) Edward Grey (Endgame): 1 (PirateDave84): Need I say more? Actually, I will say more... It's Edward. vote: Edward (endgame) And let's *clears throat* "end this game"!!! Sorry just saw I can't vote yet, so unvote: Edward (endgame) It'll come as a surprise when I vote the same tomorrow. mostlytechnic Posted September 9, 2014 Well, since yesterday was dead and today probably will too, let's see if we can find deeper meaning in the story photos... Day 2, the scum struck first, literally, with a hammer. Then the vig killed with a gun. Day 3, the first kill was a townie by a gun. The second kill was another townie, with a hammer. So did the order of kills change, or did they change weapons? Also, day 2, both victims were having personal time. Day 3, both victims were at work. Oh, and if we go all the way back to day 1 and look at the crew photo: Look at the guilty scummy doctor over there on the right. I'd say she's looking across the room at - BORIS and Jeremy. Proof of a scum team plotting right there in front of us? (it also appears that I'm giving the poor, innocent, loyal Trevor a man-hug from behind, but I swear I'm not. Look at our legs, it's just a perspective thing. I'm not actually behind him at all. Just to clear things up on that front...)

But really, just because Adrienne was looking across the room and Boris and Jeremy and she and Boris were Soviet scum doesn't mean Jeremy is. He's certainly a loyal sailor. Endgame Posted September 9, 2014 Boris was already convicted by the time he voted. I would've switched should someone else, but it would've ultimately been superfluous. And if I did do that, I probably would've been accused for flip-flopping, or just being the seventh vote. Was there any action there that could've been interpreted as "not scummy", simply becxause I didn't jump on the band wagon fast enough? You could convinct Philip of the exact same logic, in fact. He also voted for someone else after before Bob was convicted. Is he the only one on the list, besides me, that the town block has not yet confirmed?
Piratedave84 Posted September 9, 2014 MY vote for you was justified, as stated earlier, by the fact you were super-jumpy when called out even though there was 0 chance of your lynch. I'll admit it was also a bit meta; in the 1,300,000 Bob lynches I have seen, this is the first time (or one of the VERY few) times he actually flips scum. You're in a crap position, and I respect that you want to maintain your towniness. It shows you're a committed player and a good sport in the face of defeat. But the fact is, basically you're left, and you've done nothing to even appear town. The only reason you're still around is that Boris was even more obviously scummy, and he had to go yesterday. If you had some more experience, you would have known to vote against him hard early in the day rather than throw your vote at Christopher. Again, I respect the attitude you show, but, well, the game should be over tomorrow

Again, I respect the attitude you show, but, well, the game should be over tomorrow That sounds awfully arrogant. All I can say is, I sure as hell hope you have other leads, because when I flip town, you're going to be in danger of having your town block infiltrated. I'm being serious here. As much as I might as wall be talking to a brick wall here ( at least sound echoes off a wall) I know I am loyal. And if everyone is else is a supposedly confirmed townie, you're going to have to start reevaluating your block. MY vote for you was justified, as stated earlier, by the fact you were super-jumpy when called out even though there was 0 chance of your lynch. I'll admit it was also a bit meta; in the 1,300,000 Bob lynches I have seen, this is the first time (or one of the VERY few) times he actually flips scum. Super jumpy would imply counter voting, getting angry, etc. I would like to think I was reasonable, and at the least, clear. So in order for clarity: a vanilla townie should be not only active and constructive, but also completely docile? Huh? Besides, like I said: I was drawing reactions out of Mencot, in the case that he would live to Day

jimmynick Posted September 9, 2014 Edward Grey (Endgame), the only remaining crew member who could use the radio or sonar, reported to Commander Neumann: "We are some 210 miles off the Kola Peninsula and we have a Soviet attack submarine a couple of hundred metres to port, sir." Neumann then spoke to the Lieutenant Commander, "Re-verify our range to target; one ping only." "Commander, I-I-I just..." "Give me a ping, Thaddeus. One ping only, please." Ping! Edward Grey spoke again. "We have a strange response coming back, as though a cat fell asleep on their Morse-code-key-thingymabob." eeeedccbaeeeedccbabcdccbabcddccba Neumann spoke once more. "The first three people who can tell me what the Soviets' response means might get a little prize." Voting is now open.
