Strike your colors, you bloomin' cockroaches!

Recommended Posts

The Wicked Wench for those who don't know, the red ship that is in PotC, where you are sailing into town, is firing on the fort. I have allways wanted to buildit, but never had the parts. So now, I finally found the parts to do it. And with pictures of it from the Original Disneyland version, the slightly modified Walt Disney World version, and the new "Battle damaged" with Barabossa, I can't go wrong!

I ve a book called "Pirates of the Caribbean: from the Magic Kingdom to the movies" If you want to build something from the ride, f just want to quench your thirst of knowledge about the ride, I'd advise hunting it down. In fact, it can be ordered from Amazon.com here.

Now, on to the pictures!

Here are my inspiration pics. A color elevation for the first version, and the Barabossa dattle damaged (I am not going to add and battle damage, I will follow the color elavation for color and placement, and the Barabossa for the shape.)

Now to the model itself:

I won't be able to PAB anytime soon, or BL, so don't expect an update for a while.

Comments and constructive critisim are welcome.

Are my eyed deceiving me or did Mr. Norrington manage to resize these pictures? ;-)

This is a very promising start. I'll be following your progress.

Only strange thing is the hull being red in the middle whilst the rest is brown.

Well, those mid sections are the only red hulls I have, and i'll be going over the brown with red, I think, or I'll do a hull swp with my RBR bow and stern.

If you do the swap, remember that the secondary color on the RBR hulls in dark gray, not red!!

You've made a good start here, Commodore. I have a few things to point out:

1. Why are there maps on the bed?

2. P1000145 seems a little bit uncooperative.

3. Upon first glance some of those bricks resembled Megabloks, but hopefully I'm wrong.

4. It seems you have the camera too close to the subject. Try taking it further away and cropping it down.

5. Who painted that wall? X-D

That rymed...

That spelling isn't too good either.....

1. The maps are on the bed because in my little theory, the captian of the WW in PotC, is the captain seen in the Captains qaurters scene. To try and approve that, I moved the bed from my captain's qaurters scene into the cabin.

2. A link to the particular part might help...

3.They very well could be. My bins have been mixed Megabloks for some time now, but I'm not very uptight about mixing them unless its very noticable (I.e. a big wall)

4. I got my camera recently and am still not very good with it :-$ \

5. My mom. When I was 5 or something, she painted my walls like a island and ocean. Plus, above my closet, she painted two ships. I loved pirates then as much as I do now.

6. Sorry, it's just that every once in a while someone makes a spelling error, right?

That's a neat idea for a MOC *y* Commodore,

The ship is coming along real well so far.

I was wondering if you could get a better pic of this MOC cannon of yours

so i can see how the bottom of the cannon's carriage is built?

Thanx,

P

Ahhhhhhh... So this is information you receive when you go on the ride? Having never been on the ride I wasn't aware of this.

Can we get a clearer picture of the wicked wench? This one is shroudded in mist...

No. I learned it in that book I linked to in the first post. I have loved the ride cince I was first on it when I was younger, and just recently got back into it.

As for the pics...

These are the Wicked Wench as she appears now. In the "Good Ol' Days" before the 1996 and 2005 rehabs, she was nice and clean, none of the "Battle Damage" crap the're trying to shoe-horn in there.

SCince I'm very busy planning for the Haunted Mansion Mystery, could one of you gentlemen make decal for a Jolly Rodger, but have it a yellow skull and crossed swords? That is what the flag really is in the ride. Also, could you also resize it to the appropriate size before you post it? The help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you want the flag to be the same size as B's flags or do you want smaller 2x2 flags?

Does the flag look like this?

Maybe the browser is unhappy with the long name of the .jpg.

Anyway, I've made the name shorter and put it in BS. Now it should be visible.
