Lego Parrot Posted November 24, 2008 (edited) Link to the village... http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=353305 The buildings are embellishments, so just focus on the blood and gore. Happy building and good luck to everyone else. Edited November 25, 2008 by Lego Parrot
Erdbeereis Posted November 24, 2008 I'm afraid your entry doesn't fit in the contest theme very well. For example you have City torsos, Castle knights, Indiana Jones torsos and some of the buildings don't fit the time period too well. I would suggest you have another look at the rules, and then adjust your entry accordingly. It doesn't look bad at all, it just needs to be fixed to be in the pirates theme. Here are a few first things that could help: 1) I would definitely try to include only pirate or imperial minifigs, and some townsfolk. That's the first thing that makes a MOC go in the Pirate theme. 2) The building in the back looks a bit too modern with the glass windows. Maybe try and add some older looking things, the Castle or new Pirates line have many good pieces for that. Good luck!
Lego Parrot Posted November 24, 2008 I only found the kraken attackin at my TRU. I could only afford one, too. I do not have any pirates other than those two. I didn't think I was going to win, but I said what the heck, I might as well try.
Erdbeereis Posted November 24, 2008 It's definitely good that you tried! There's never any harm in that. You probably could at least make a great medium or small division entry if you wanted to. That wouldn't require so many pieces or minifigs.
Lego Parrot Posted November 24, 2008 I'm going to make one more entry this week hopefully. Wish me luck!
Patriot720 Posted November 25, 2008 Good entry! it's not very accurate to the theme but at least you tried! I'm going to make one more entry this week hopefully. Wish me luck! It'd be best you'd hurry as the contest ends in about 5 days But nevertheless, good luck!!!
Guss Posted November 25, 2008 hurry up ! I think you don't have enough pirates part to make a so huge entry, my advice would be to reduce it, and maybe only make a medium and a small entry ^^ also, you need to post some image to make it a valid entry ^^ anyway, good luck at building it and good luck for the contest! ^^
Zorro Posted November 25, 2008 Well, I must agree they really look great, you most definatly have the ability to deliver a good PTV entry if you want to and have the spare time to do so. Much luck with the contest (and any future ones you might enter)!
Lego Parrot Posted November 25, 2008 Picture added 11/26. Hope you guys enjoy my small and medium entries that are ready but need to be moderated. Good luck everyone!
Erdbeereis Posted November 25, 2008 If you don't want to wait for your gallery to be moderated, you could just deep-link them. To do that, just click on the picture on your brickshelf account until you can't anymore, then copy the picture's web address. After that, here in the post window, click on the little button with a sunset picture on it above the post window, and follow instructions from there. Here is a tutorial on this if you weren't able to understand my directions: Deeplinking tutorial Hope this helps!
pirate4life Posted November 27, 2008 This set needs more pirateish things. It lacks pirates and different pictures. it needs more pirate building instead of castle and modern buildings. Try the new sets they have what you need. Ill give it a 1 out of 5.
