Hello, everyone!
I’d like to present my ship of the line “Gallus”.

While building her I used mostly the  sketches of the first Russian ship of the line “Goto Predestinatsia”. However I changed it in some respects.

The first reason is that I wanted to build something personal, but within historical principles. On the other hand I managed to take good photos (with the help of EB-user VerSen), but didn’t leave myself enough time to complete the building. That’s why half of the masting was built right at the exhibition from the parts at hand. You see this hyper-big-blind-topmast.








There are 64 cannons on board – 30 at every side and two in the front and two at the stern.











I didn’t want to use standard frames with shutters which are often used in ship-projects, so I decided to use such parts instead. Besides this decision helped to create an illusion of a two-deck-stern.
But they left nasty chinks.
So I used these parts:



Of course it led to difficulties for the interior, but as I built her first of all for an exhibition, I could do without it.



The building of the balcony was a tiresome business. It took me nearly one hour to come to this variant.  I think it isn’t bad, is it?

The total time spent from the draft till the performance – about 6 months.
I’m not sure that the building is complited. There must be at least sails and perfection of some small deficits. An ambitious project were the interior and the masting made of strings.

Wow, simply amazing. Truly a lovely and unique ship. You might have shared some bit of her as a WIP though. I, and I'm sure many others, would like to make inquiries or comments on certain elements of her. At this stage however, I'd feel quite guilty, what with you the "proud father" so to speak and her so far along as to hinder any significant modification. That bit aside, I do rather like much of what you have, and with all that brown and gold she must have cost you a fortune in bricks. She's truly a regal and intimidating ship.

EPIC comes to mind.

That is, how do you say. An incredible amount of guns. I just love how smooth and clean everything is. Ignoring how beautifully you photographed it, it just looks right. You've managed to fit an enormous number of cannons onto a ship and just make it look proper.

I'm not a big MOC'er so I won't even comment on the technique, because I'm no pro, but I love your end result!

The part where C-3PO as the figurehead cracked me up.
Beautiful smooth, clean, and massive ship. You know, I didn't expect it to turn out like this. By the way, lovely cabin.

The colors are amezing so are all the angels, if I would have seen this pass by at google i swear I woulden notice it was Lego

Before anyone else takes the opportunity to point out my folly, I’ll make a correction. I see, looking back over the board that you indeed have a WIP thread, which I even looked over with interest several time, but simply slipped my mind. Apologies, and she is still a great ship.

That's simply breathtaking!
I really love your whole colour scheme and  the your amazing details of the weatherdeck and the balcony. However, I think that most of us would like to have a glance below deck? Thanks!

Nice, the headrails smoothly follow the hull curve, clever to use bars between the stern windows, I guess that excludes the possibility of interior  
The deck is beautiful, sweet dark brown.
I think the stern galleries start a bit abrupt, it would be very nice if you could angle that part:

What a build! Fantastic, she is amazing

I totally love the hull and the totality of the vessel. The stern is specially ornate and of course the technique you used for the windows is brilliant The way you built the curves, so smooth is amazing too, and of course all the tilling gives her a very shiny look.

Besides agreeing with Sebeus on the galleries I would like to point some things out. In the upper gun's deck your gunports are way too high (comparing to the gun's height, of course) because in that position the crew would only be able to fire upwards. That wouldn't be very useful in such a giant, would it? Wheels on the cannons would solve the problem I guess.



The shrouds look odd in such a masterpiece, I really hope you go for custom rigging. An issue that I immediately spotted is the masts' distances. Ok, it is not something that noticeable but I made some simple calculations using your reference pictures and your mainmast is 4 bricks farther to the foremast than it should. Of course you are not building an historical accurate replica, but from naked eye one understands that the two aft masts are way too close. Nitpicking, I guess, but she is so good she surely deserves it

this is a big one, i like the use of all the darkbown parts, its a nice color, i really like the curved towers at the cabin, it looks really nice, and i love firepower, and especialy when you have that many real lego cannon fitted into a ship, this thing just need some sails, and then its all ready to go, awesome job

This is a great ship, Im glad you decided to keep working on her.  What I find most interesting about this build is it's based on a drawing which by itself is meant to be dramatic not accurate, and you've captured that brilliantly "in the brick".  The only things I think that would improve her would be custom rigging of course, and also maybe one more headrail below the current one.  I think that would top things off nicely.  Well done

I always hoped you could add some more updates on your former WIP thread, thought you had declined on your attemp, which made me kind of sad, coz I was following the progress really closely, I really love how you make curves on the hull... you had some really nice ideas, I was about to copy some of them for my QAR hehe...

What a wonderful ship!! Great details too! and I particularly like the colourscheme and your weatherdeck.   However, a little flaw would be that in my opinion, I think that your rails at the stern and front castle might not be tall enough as you can see from this photo the rails are only at the captain's legs and so that it will be easy for him to lose his balance.

You should totally do another Ship like this one, But rather that having for blue coats you should make it for redcoats or otherwise known as lobster backs
