[MOC] Attack of the giant squid

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

This is a creation made for a pirates MOC contest on French board BrickPirate.

Still having some good old sails in decent state - this was the time to bring back the Imperial Armada to the front of the scene :pir-sweet:

Well, maybe not at their best day as they are here facing an unexpected encounter ...

Here are some details of the squid's attack :

And our poor lads panicking :

Hope you'll like it :pir-classic:

Cool! :) But some more splash on the water could add realism to your nice creation?

I advise you to put it in Pillage the Village Contest. I saw a nice squid, just like your, in LEGO ideas. Perhaps that inspired you. The MOC is bloody enough for that!

Good work. The squid is great. Where's the ship's cook? Calamari for dinner?

Yup, you're 100% right, I should have done that. The water is indeed pretty quiet despise the attack pirate_sceptic.gif

This scene was created for another contest, so I will not submit it for the PtV contest as it would be against the rules (but maybe build something else for this fun contest pirate_blush.gif)

And I didn't see the squid you're referring to on Ideas - this one was build with pure imagination ^^ (and a little inspiration from Zoidberg's face (Futurama) for the beast's head)

Wow! This is a fun creation. Well, not funny for those poor souls on board, but fun to watch the squid 'embrace' its newly found friends.

Well, somehow I'm expecting Captain Braunsfeld now to come up with a huge monkey creation and have the two critters fight it out. pirate_laugh2.gif

Keep it up!

Thanks again for the comments, glad you like the scene.

Hi, Sweetsha. I recently asked what had inspired you to creat such a nice squid. And I compared it to the following LEGO project. Though it is a giant octopus there. But I like your squid more maybe because it's more detailed and besides I prefer unusual building techniques. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/106569

I didn't knew this one, it is funny too, and is maybe more accurate to a real octopus than mine - I build a kind of mix between a squid, an octopus and Zoidberg. At the end the hardest part was to find a proper word to qualify the beast, well my choice was "squid" pir_laugh2.gif

Great work, I love it!

Awesome work! The ship is awesome, and the use of Armada colours is a refreshing change. Well done on the setup and presentation of the minifigures onboard as well. The squid is freaking adorable. Great work.
