Inconsistency with Power Functions order accuracy

Recommended Posts

The last two times I have ordered Power Functions parts from S@H I have received the wrong item. First time I ordered a battery box and instead was sent a Lego City playmat. Second time I ordered a IR reciever and instead was sent a battery box.

Both times customer service has been lovely and sent the correct item in priority mail.

I'm curious if this is just an issue with Power Functions and the way they are handled in the warehouse or if it happens this often with other items as well?

When did you made your orders? I haven't had any Power Functions order problem before. Last time I ordered Power Functions was double VIP point a couple months ago.

This is interesting. Earlier this year my family made an order including a couple of Power Functions items (forget which specifically) and in their place we received a $60 Ninjago set and a $60 Star Wars set (greatly exceeding the $20 or so worth of Power Functions we had ordered). Like in your case, customer service was very helpful in sorting that out. And it was the first such error we'd ever had ordering through Shop at Home.

I had considered it to be just a random occurrence, and it very well might be... but I suppose it's possible that it's indicative of a more widespread issue with packing Power Functions orders. Who knows?

Both orders were made in the months before Christmas during double VIP points.

Imagine if someone ordered a $20 set and shipped a modular.

good bye modular...

I have not had difficulties with PF orders. I ordered a few PF items during October for the double VIP and the order was accurate and timely. The order was only PF, and the even shipped the Christmas Train too as the order was over $99.

I wondered if the less-frequently-ordered or more-technical items might have issues if the picking staff were less familiar with their locations.

I've been OK with ordering PF Train Motors 88002 alongside sets, and also previous PF orders have been fine,

but a recent parts order that included some weight blocks for my LEGO Technic BB-8 droid had the blocks missing.

Customer Services were great at fixing the problem and sending the missing parts on as usual but it was the first time I've had an order sent incorrectly.

Just curious, did you have to send those sets back or did Lego just consider them as a loss anyway?

I had a case where I ordered 3 sets, 1 was correct and 2 were random other sets (of similar sizes). They required me to send back the incorrect sets. I'm guessing they do that mostly to avoid people scamming them by claiming they got the wrong item.

Sorry for only getting to this post now. Yes, we had to send them back, though they did send us a shipping label to use to do so. Mind you, we might have hypothetically been able to keep the set we received instead of the ones we'd ordered... but we really had no interest in keeping those more expensive sets, and ethically, the choice was quite clear.

A user on another forum said he received a laser barcode scanner along with his LEGO set. It took some effort to convince LEGO they had accidentally shipped him a scanner and LEGO should take it back. It seems there are surprises with online orders. Maybe lesser hassle to shop in the brick and mortar stores. :classic:
