Mr Hobbles Posted July 1, 2007 Hey guys, I'm thinking I want to make the next meet in 2008 at Billund. I've been to Windsor once before but that's it. It'll be nice to go to the home of it all! *y* When is the event scheduled (ie. dates)? Any other info? I really want to come. :-) Cheers!

Mr Hobbles Posted July 2, 2007 Not as a poor uni student who needs to save up cash and possibly book as early as possible to get the cheapest deals. :-D
xwingyoda Posted July 2, 2007 Its way too early yet X-D I do however love your enthusiasm ;-) But my guess is that its going to take place from (more or less) end of april/beginning of may ;-) All the previous events were around these dates ;-) So start saving hehe !! Bonaparte Posted July 2, 2007 Next year I'll do my best to attend the EB-event. Billund is about 850km from my home, so that's still doable by car.
UniqueBuilder Posted July 2, 2007 I'll try to attend too, if I can find the money, time and if I get allowed for you (I promise not to get drunk! :-P ) and my mom. X-D
Holodoc Posted July 2, 2007 Oh, I really looked forward to the first thread about the 2008 event. :'-) But as copmike and yoda already pointed out, it

CopMike Posted July 3, 2007 Ok, the planning has begun! As all of you know one of the most important things at a EB-event is the Firefighting Game >:-)! So to add to the always heated feelings about it here

Quarryman Posted July 3, 2007 So how is this firefighting game played? Is it free for all with many teams, just two teams, some kind of cup, or something completely different? And what is the firefighting game anyway? (Billund is way too close to not at least consider going to the next event, with the most important obstacles being a) time and b) money ;-) )
Mr Hobbles Posted July 3, 2007 I'm wondering about this game too, that fire place looks fun! Although, do they still allow us "grown-ups" on these rides?

xwingyoda Posted July 4, 2007 I'm wondering about this game too, that fire place looks fun! Although, do they still allow us "grown-ups" on these rides? Definitly !! So here is how the game works - and its a load of fun !! You need to be a team of 4 players (the first task is to assemble teams :-P ) UNtil now its always been Vikings vs rest of Europe :-D I shall explain the game dividing it into the 3 steps: * step1: you need to rush on in the engine, shift gear and 2 people pump as hard as they can to reach the fire (like 150 meters or so) * step2: you need to rush out of the engine towards the 2 water hoses: thats why you need to be 4: 2 are pumping like crazy for water to come, and 2 are aiming to spray the water into az small hole in the wall. Spray until the hole closes * Step3: its step 1 reversed: run like crazy into the engine, gear up, and pump !! Its definitly loads of fun !! Firefighter game ON !! *yoda*
Hinckley Posted July 6, 2007 Cool! I want to go too. I'll have to save up. That firefighting game sounds like a blast, not to mention I would love to meet all of you guys. Wait until you see how boring I am in real life. I just sit around and throw out algebraic equations and mostly stare at my shoes...

Starwars4J Posted July 6, 2007 At least you guys throw out algebraic equations when you sit around (apparently). I'm actually fairly reserved and quiet, at least until I start to feel comfortable. Then I don't shut up :-|

El Bucanero Posted July 6, 2007 (edited) I'm not sure where Mr Bonaparte lives, but I do think we live quite close to each other, so if distance to Billund was the only problem, than I should be able to attend to the event! But then there's money, and parents... I'm quite sure THEY wouldn't like to drive the bloody 8+ hours "just for this event...". So they probably won't drive me...
