Actually, Bricklink prefers to give old part numbers to what they consider "new versions" of older parts in a lot of cases. A better question would be why TLG will sometimes give new part numbers to these new versions (for instance, assigning #60897 to part 4085b) and other times re-use part numbers on a radically different mold (keeping the same part number for the newer 4085d).

But yeah; I'm just sharing which one is the part number actually listed on the piece, which these days tends to be the one I go by regardless of appearance. It's your choice which you'd rather have on your sets, since it's a fairly subjective issue.

I see. Well, thanks for your help anyway. I might as well just keep them as they are until LDD adds the different parts, if it does.
I'll try to be more careful on the coming sets.

Bricklink is very inconsistent with what they call it (in some instances I've seen it called Pearl Dark Grey, despite an entirely separate color existing that also gets that label), but thankfully this year they've somewhat standardized it so that Flat Silver is used for most parts in 315 Silver Metallic.
  
  
• The two brown slopes should be 308 Dark Brown rather than 192 Reddish Brown.
  
  
• Barbossa's hands should be 1 White rather than 283 Light Nougat.

• The prints for the white horse's face are actually available. To access them, click View>New Themes>LEGO DesignByMe to switch to DesignByMe mode where you can generate the printed horse from the brick tray, or download my LDD Decorations file which includes all decorated parts that function on LDD (including many others that can't be applied with the decoration tool).
  
  
• Technically, the 1x1 plates with clips are a version of part 60897 rather than a version of part 4085. The appearance of part 60897 on LDD is misleading and depicts an older version of this piece, but the underside of the part labeled as 4085d on Bricklink actually confirms its part number as 60897.
  
  
• The 1x2x2 panel pieces should be part 87552 rather than 4864.
  
  
• There is a 308 Dark Brown 1x2 plate (3023) that should probably be 192 Reddish Brown.
  
  
• The coachman's waist should be 26 Black, not 199 Dark Stone Grey.

• As always, the 1x1 vertical clips in current sets would be 60897 rather than 4085, but of course you know that and it doesn't affect the model whether you go by LDD appearance (as you have done) or by part number. Anyway, Bricklink lists it as 4085c, which if that's really the type in this set would be 4085 (although I'm extremely skeptical, and almost certain it would be 4085d instead).
  
  
• The 1x1 horizontal clips have the same deal. Modern sets will use 61252, and on LDD the two bricks are pretty much identical so there shouldn't be any problem. But again, Bricklink lists the older version, and again, I'm not too confident in the assessment of whoever inventoried this set.
  
  
• Metallic Silver parts should be 298 Cool Silver Drum Lacquered rather than 309 Metalized Silver. 309 Metalized Silver is chrome silver, btw, if it helps you on future MOCs (to my knowledge it and 310 Chrome Gold may be the only two chrome colors to have material IDs at all).

Good job getting the correct color on the fish; this is yet another set where Bricklink chose a completely illogical color for it. But then again, Bricklink also says the 2x2 corner slopes are 3x3 corner slopes, so here you are and there you go.

Generally. 4085b should also be 60897 in any recent sets (as in, any sets in the last decade).

• Your model includes 4 12M axles. According to Bricklink there should be 3 12M axles and 1 10M axle. But I can't be totally sure Bricklink is correct in this case. Better to double-check.
  
  
• You have one of brick 64644 in black which is not in the Bricklink inventory. Since you're using those as substitutes for the transparent brown bottle piece 95228, I'm guessing you may have colored it incorrectly?
  
  
• The cook's waist should be 308 Dark Brown rather than 5 Brick Yellow.
  
  
• Bricklink suggests that the cannon 84943 should be all one color, but it's hard to tell if it's accurate on this.
  
  
• Again the thing with part 4085-- BL says it should be 4085, while I'm pretty confident it should be 60897. Go by your own judgment. Same with 6019, which I believe would really be 61252.

That must have been coincidence.   I notice I wrote Pearl Light Grey instead of Pearl Dark Grey in my post though, so I'll change that.
The BL inventory for this set appeared literally less than a minute after I finished the set, so I had to build without it. I noticed the slope error there, but went with the instructions that definitely showed that they were 2x2.

Yes, it was half over the angled mast that should be 10 rather than 12. Missed that.

I did that by accident when I was checking the part number to report the errors here. I clicked on it first with the Paint tool and didn't notice the change.
When I updated the file with Angelica's feather, the black part was still there.

Yes, my fault. I forgot they were two separate parts and forgot to change the back colours.

Seeing as it's difficult to run back through the set to find all these parts and change them, I'll just leave them this time.
On all future sets, I'll try to decide which is best.

Yes, I made them Dark Stone Grey originally, because I hadn't seen them in Medium Stone Grey before and thought I'd just looked at the instructions wrong. When I realised, I guess I didn't correct all five parts.

Lovely model! But there are a few errors. It was hard to check for them since the Bricklink inventory seems woefully inaccurate; in the end I had to go through every piece in the order they were added in the instructions in order to be sure of what was in fact an error.

• Bricklink says there should be only two 2x2 45 degree inverse slopes (piece 3660); your model has four. According to Bricklink and the instructions, two of these are supposed to instead be 2x2 bricks (piece 3003).
  
  
• You have two 4x10 black plates (piece 3030) where Bricklink and the instructions say you should have one 4x10 black plate and one 4x8 black plate.
  
  
• The 1x6 arch piece should be part 3455 rather than 92950.

I had caught that last one, but uploaded the wrong file :) I have fixed the other issues, and have updated the files.

Just used LDD 4.1.7 to make 6890 Cosmic Cruiser from the Space theme:

Errors:

• The correct decorations are unavailable for pieces 3004, 3010, 3839, and 76382. These pieces have been left blank.
  
  
• Parts 3943, 4081, and 4085 are all newer versions of those molds than those which appeared in the original set. Since they do have the correct part numbers, however, they are as correct as they can ever be unless LDD's data structure is changed to allow multiple part designs to share the same design ID.

Other than that, no errors! It was fun building this, although it was far more boring a design than any of the Space sets from today or from my own childhood.

• On the boat with the Brick Yellow deck, you have used one 2x2 45 degree inverse slope (3660) where you should have used two 1x2 45 degree inverse slopes (3665).
  
  
• I won't make you change this because I'm not sure about it, but I have for a long time had a sneaking suspicion that flags in sets after 2008 should use part 60779 (which is the newer of the two part numbers) rather than 2335. However, I never remember to check my own collection to verify this. You can maybe compare pre- and post-2008 sets from your own collection if it's not too much trouble-- 60779 has a slightly different clip shape than 2335. But I'm mainly saying this not because you need to change this but to ingrain it in my memory that I need to stop putting this verification off.
  
  
• Your model only has three Medium Stone Grey 1x1 round plates (6141). Bricklink and the instructions say there should be five. The missing two belong on the jumper plates on the back of the boat.
  
  
• Your model only has nine Dark Stone Grey 1x1 round plates (6141). Bricklink and the instructions say there should be 13. The missing four belong on the jumper plates on the back of the boat.
  
  
• Your model has 11 Bright Blue 1x1 round bricks (3062). According to Bricklink four of these should be Earth Blue.

I have a number of these in this color and can certify that it doesn't match other Phosphorescent White parts. However, it's made with a plastic other than polycarbonate, hence why it's not transparent but more of a milky color like the transparent portions of many BIONICLE weapon pieces.
  
  
• The 4x4 hinge plates (44570) can only be hinged at angles that are multiples of 22.5 degrees. You have them hinged at 15 degrees.

• Your model has a 1x4 Brick Yellow palisade brick (30137) where it should have a 1x4 Brick Yellow Technic brick (3701).

Also, this isn't an error, but it'd be really cool if you could float the sections of the temple to the heights they'd be at if they were on the baseplate. But it's not the most common baseplate, and I wouldn't be able to tell you how high that would make everything have to be, so unless you know that for yourself that'll have to wait until the baseplate is actually available.

Great work on all these sets! Indiana Jones was a great theme, and I've really enjoyed the few sets from the theme that I've acquired over the years!

I changed it anyway since I was making other edits.
I compared the parts from the Mos Espa Podrace, the Hoth Rebel Base and the Republic Dropship, but couldn't see any differences between the clips. The post-2008 dropship part clearly has a different texture and no circles or 'LEGO' markings on the clips, but I can't see any differences in shape or thickness.

I have now estimated their height based on the stairs at the back right of the temple and raised them to that height.

I couldn't see it listed so I thought I'd give it a go, knowing that alot of pieces are missing from LDD.

- Hull is using different pieces but managed to make it work, albiet with a bit of customisation.
- Couldn't get strings to function like in real model, don't even know if this is possible.
- Also Wing 4 x 4 Left and right are not in LDD so had to make a few changes there.
- Several other missing parts that I can't remember
- Not all minifigs included in final lxf file
- Managed to get the chest suspended by the hook although the hook system is different as box parts aren't included in LDD
- No sails
- Probably a fair few tile colour inaccuracies
- Decorations missing or incorrect on minfigs due to not being available in LDD
- No decorations on flags

You have to find a file hosting service to host your image and your lxf files.
Forum's attachment service is very limited and inadequate for this goal.

Almost all here uses a brickshelf account, that allow to host both images and lxf files and use deeplink.
Other alternatives are: a private web space, a generic file hosting (such as fileden, mediafire, adrive, ...), an image hosting for images (such as imageshack) and another solution for the lxf files, ...

If you didn't that already, read the first page to see the topic's rules and look at other recent posts as reference.  

PS: if you don't include all minifigs, the set will be indexed as incomplete.

That doesn't bother me at all, I just thought I'd share what I have done with everyone else, happy for someone to point out improvements etc, when I get around to it I may duplicate a few of the minifigs. The main reason I didn't is there is absolutely no pirate decorations what so ever and they would all look almost identical save a hat and clothing colour.
