Admiral Khan Posted September 1, 2014 I am planning on a castle to build, but am at a crossroads to what shape to build the castle. I am building it on a 60x28 area. My inspirational shape is this castle built by Ecclesiastes: I want to build a mountain-type castle that doesn't have much of a courtyard, but has a few taller towers besides the keep. The castle I want to build would be a little smaller than the link, but still roughly the same shape, with the gatehouse leading to the keep, and the turning toward a taller tower on a larger rock. Any shape suggestions would be highly appreciated. Cheers

Alfadas Posted September 1, 2014 Unfortunately I can't be much of help, not a lot of interesting castles here in Netherlands. But I also would like to get some ideas, so please share them!

TheLegoDr Posted September 1, 2014 That's a neat looking castle. I hadn't seen that before. I recently started building a castle too. I did want to incorporate a different shape or angled walls or something, I ended up keeping it fairly square only since it is my first castle. I'll start off slow and work my way up to more advanced techniques. I also have little time to actually build, so I don't have time to tinker with different angles or shapes. Best of luck to you on your castle.
Alfadas Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) What's wrong with this one? Nothing. I said "not a lot". That means there are some nice ones, but countries like England and France have more, bigger castles. I like that one! But what castle is that? Alfadas Posted September 1, 2014 Ok, that is close to where I live. Maybe I can visit it someday. Get some better looks at it. Lots of nice round towers, kinda hard to make with Lego.

Admiral Khan Posted September 2, 2014 I think we only have one castle here in Québec, the Château Frontenac. It kind of fits your desctiption? That fits a little of what I am thinking of since it has the keep in the middle.
