If you look in the first issue of comics in the piraka series from 2006 (that's #1) there is a picture of Zaktan holding the toa nuva of fire's mask and saying that all of them were killed. Go Check!! >:-( :-D He says no such thing. He holds their masks because they are captured. I suggest you read the books, it fully explains how the Nuva were defeated, locked away, and freed. They were initially defeated by the Piraka because of a surprise attack -- later, when recharging with the odds on their side, they were defeated by Brutaka.
