djo Posted January 7, 2011 nice review. very informative pictures. that sticker is really big and disappointing. i like the van and car design, minus the doors. love that ponytail hair, is it new mold?
SilentMode Posted January 7, 2011 Not a bad overview of the set. How much is it retailing for? I'm mostly keen on green suitcases and the number of new and unusual parts, but those minifigures have got to go. The only one I can really stomach is the collection police officer. I will reserve judgement on the rest until part two!
keep on bricking! Posted January 7, 2011 i think i read its about 40 quid so i cant afford it then
mifody Posted January 7, 2011 - Part 2 - Further we pass to set assemblage! And the first that we should collect is a motorcycle with a new red coloring!!! Let's compare it to other analogs: The following that we collect, the police car - the single versatile person is!!! The car is collected and now we consider it on closer: Let's compare the given car to other police cars: In my opinion, the best police car is a car from a set 3648!!! Further we collect the collector car - one of the most interesting vehicles in the given set! In a design of the given model there are some interesting ideas and new details which we will consider in process of assemblage! Compartment for storage of small suitcases with money and safes: As a roof it is used new detail already specified earlier: Very interesting design of lateral mirrors: The car is collected! We stack in it our riches: - Safes - Suitcases - The cart for transportation of all suitcases and safes The car is ready to transportation of bank notes and other jewelry! Let's compare the given car to vans from sets 7245 and 7286: End of part 2!
Wout Posted January 7, 2011 Thank you for the nice review. love that ponytail hair, is it new mold? It's already used for princess Tamina from last years "Prince of Persia" line

mifody Posted January 7, 2011 - Part 3 - Well and now we pass to construction of a unique building in a set - "City Bank"!!! The given structure is 2 floor building, with located in it on the cash dispense ground floor, and on the second - the safe!!! In the beginning we collect the ground floor: As you can see, on the ground floor распологается bank minioffice: The cash dispense - accepts credit cards and gives out a cash!!! On the one hand is a cash dispense... ... And with another is a wall with hours! Workplace of the bank employee: About a little table a red pimple see? It is the alarm system button! Further we collect 2nd floor. In it there is a safe with money and gold! Safe door - as well as it is necessary - very thick! One more interesting detail: the gold ingot + a label turns out... A credit card!!! Well here the bank also is constructed! End of part 3!
Stardusty Posted January 7, 2011 Review is great! 5/5 I can/t believe that you have applied stickers on pieces like 6x6 tile and gold 1x2 tile. Still, this set is great and if I lost interest in SW (never going to happen) I'm going to buy it.
mifody Posted January 7, 2011 - Part 4 - All set in gathering: Spare details: I wait for your comments! PS: I Apologize for the bad English! Small bonus from me - small photohistory about an unfortunate robbery!!! The END!!! All good luck!!!
The Yellow Brick Posted January 7, 2011 Thanks for this awesomely long review , This set is at the top of my 2011 wanted list and I'll be buying it very soon.
Jeff Huntington Posted January 7, 2011 I really like this set and it was a lot of fun to build. A lot of the building techniques are great. I especially like the way the sign is mounted on the side of the upper story and plan to replicate that in future builds. My biggest nitpick is the backprinting on the armored car driver. At least in the U.S., armored security cars are all run by private firms and not by police agencies. I swapped his torso out for an old 80's police fig and used it to put another detective in my station. There's a lot to love about this set. We haven't had a bank in years and this one is very well done. The vehicles are nice as well. The only thing not to love is the price - US$50 is a lot. I'll gladly buy another one if I can get it on sale, but I won't pay full retail for another.
lightningtiger Posted January 7, 2011 Thank you for the MEGA review 'mifody' - I WANT THIS SET.....in fact more than more....I could do a string of these buildings with slight mods, post office, doctors rooms, stores, the list is endless and the vehicle parts.....the new parts are too AWESOME - MOC potential ! Perfect set to go between my sons police and service stations.....well you gotta give the crooks more than one place to rob eh ? I love the one shots - guy pinned down by a woman ! Again, thanks 'mifody' for this review....only question where did you buy from (store or Lego S@H) ? Brick On Everyone !

lightningtiger Posted January 7, 2011 I have bought this set from us in Russia in toy shop for 2249 roubles (75$)! Ah, toy shop.....okay here in Oz that means BigW, Target or Toyworld......or dare I say TRU, but only TRU if TRU has it in USA/UK. Has anyone else seen this set around in their country yet ? Again, Brick On Everyone !
SilentMode Posted January 7, 2011 Having seen the rest of the review, I think I might have a look at getting this set after all. Part 3 really saved it for me!
prateek Posted January 7, 2011 Great review. I built this set on LDD, and the building is smaller than the pictures make it seem. The interior of the armoured truck is amazing though. One thing I'd add is another criminal, because it seems very brave/stupid of a lonewolf bank robber to rob a bank during a money transfer.

WesternOutlaw Posted January 8, 2011 Great images Mifody. I picked this set up merely hours ago and planned to review it on Saturday morning. You beat me to it, but after seeing all the images that you've shared, some with other City components like the motorcycles and police cars, I don't think that I can top what you've done here. At the same time, I love it and am very much looking forwarding to adding a banking establishment to my Train Town. I've taken the liberty of photo-editing one of your images and have added a poll to your review. Front-paged! Thanks for sharing.

TheWarden Posted January 8, 2011 Good lord, this is a pretty nice looking set! It has some real raw attractive quality, that gets close to "city modular" aesthetic to me. I haven't gotten into MOCcing Town yet as an AFOL (I certainly have enough vintage pieces, though) but this is making me want to try! I may have to pick this one up. I still want the very lovely City House from last year as well. They would be a nice push for me to start a Town project. Oh well, nuff about me. This review was awesomely done. Thanks for the review!
Alywin Posted January 8, 2011 Thanks for the good and detailed review! 3661 is the most surprise to me for the latest batch of City sets, mostly because of its inclusion of the long-awaited bank as well as a security armour car. 3661 is overall speaking good, but of course a bit reliant on stickers...
