MOC Project: Order of the Bricks

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

Since the time I've returned to Lego from my dark age, I had this idea on my mind. I'll make a comic-like series of MOC of a group of heroes' adventures. There will be a lot of references to RPGs (D&D, VtM, etc.) and popular culture. I'm quite eager to start but I know it'll be more of a challenge besides being fun. The main thing that makes me doubt is my camera, I want super clear photos but I'll deal with it hopefully! :)

And also as some of you might guess, I'm totally influenced by the famous web-comic, Order of the Sticks. :)

Hope to see you soon guys with introduction of our group.

Best Regards,

Burak

(and also note; not sure if it belongs this forum but couldn't find anywhere better.)

I love that strip, good luck!

But be careful about intellectual properties when posting your MOCs, the OotS characters are protected by copyrights. This may not be an issue on EB forums, but if you create your own website/blog it might become a problem. You may want to contact Rich Burlew directly to help on this issue. I did, and he was kind enough to give me some explanation, but I was asking about using his OotS style to depict different subjects (and this is allowed), not about depicting his characters in a different style (which unfortunately it is probably not allowed). But again, it's possible that for a few pictures of your MOCs there would be no problem at all, just ask him to be sure :classic:

The Brick Flicks & Comics subforum might be a better place to introduce your comic. You can get tips, hints and advice there :classic: .

@Legoist: I don't think Dharkan wants to make an exact Lego copy of TOotS comic, just something based on it. If I understand you want to make a story that is built on RPG elements, no? A bit like Darths & Droids and the likes, but with Lego?

Indeed! I dont want to do anything rip off or something, it'll just have the same concept that's all. :)

There could be only one similarity, Im thinking about doing an anti-group of heroes at some point with fleshskin minifigs :D I'll ask if I can do it before doing it so. But that's a long way ahead.

I really hope I can get this started.

Anyone know how can I make a good template for/as a comic strip? (I hope that is what it is called)
