Hallo!

Recommended Posts

Hello there! I've been lurking around the forum for a while but have decided to post, finally (And I also took some piccies of my town tonight so I thought I would share!).

I believe my first set was the Shell Garage with the multi-storey car park (Seen in some of the piccies) and since then I've always wanted to design my own town (SimCity filled the void in between childhood and now!). After finally deciding to trust eBay a few years ago, my town has slowly started to grow and I am very much an "Old School" owner, prefering models from the 80s and early 90s, but still buy some of the more modern models, such as the Town Plan, and the modular models.

Hopefully the piccies will load or I will find another means of uploading them!

My town keeps changing (Which is why some layout bits are unfinished) due to my own personal creativity and the fact that Lego keeps bringing out new buildings, which means things have got to be shifted around, but its kinda roughly how it will eventually look ("Eventually"....yeah right! It'll never be finished!). And then I got to figure out where I'm going to put all the other bits that are waiting to be put in!

(Hopefully the links work - I didn't want to put images directly on this page as they would probably be huge and take ages for the page to load...)

Welcome to Eurobricks, Red Fox! I see you've found the perfect use for loft space. Do you like any other themes besides town?

Thank you very much for the welcomes! :)

Pre-eBay, I had my models up in another loft which was a lot smaller. Then I decided the loft was cramping my creativity, so asking parents to assist, we boarded up our main loft and I have one side of it! Its nice having the space, and a good choice in carpet tile colour, so I don't need to worry about blue water plates! Hehehe!

And Rufus, I am a town boy through and through. I think its because the kits I received when I was younger were all town kits and therefore I've developed that line of building!

That's a really great town layout you have!

I like the dock area with all the boats - looks like you have 6541 and 2 x 6542?

In DSC01710.jpg what's the waterside fire building and boat behind 4020?

I can see a number of '80s and '90s sets in there. I'm fond of '80s and early '90s sets myself.

Will do VVBN!

And Praetorian, the fire boat behind the 4020 fire boat is created from a set, reference number: 735 from 1990. You can build several fire related models from it, including a great big fire engine! Plus its 9V, so my fire boat glows all nice colours in the dark! Tres bling! I then added several fire officers to it, though the boat is not really designed to have them on board.

The fire building next to them is my own creation, using fire-related pieces, such as the stickered windows, which acts as my Marine Fire HQ - Office and beds in the upper bit. I then extended a jetty out from the sloped platform to create the walkway to the boats. Its definitley unqiue!

I'm going to have a splurge on spending soon to buy the new Lego Department Store model and the Carousel, and debating whether to get the Fire Department modular building too - Im just unsure of the fire engine that goes with it. I appreciate its a 1932's design but still...

So I shall get more piccies over time!
