Skulls_Eye_Schooner_Sailor Posted March 3, 2010 Nice to meet you all! The name is Ben, I'm currently 26 and reside in central Texas. It is so cool that a place like this exists. I had no idea! I found it via some web perusals for information on LEGO stuff and whatnot, and I found the set reviews and pictures of people's custom LEGO creations to be quite interesting! I've been a fan of these wonderful little bricks since I was a kid. I remember having the basic bin ones where you could build all kinds of stuff (I remember making a windmill at some point), and I also had quite a few of the themed sets! Yeah, I was quite the spoiled brat. Hoo boy! Favorite theme? Well, I liked just about all of them, practically. But I really liked Pirates, Space, Castle, Town, Aquazone, etc.. I am a big fan of trains and model railroading but amazingly I never had any LEGO train sets! For shame! I used to have tons of the stuff but I am afraid most of my old sets are broken up and cannibalized these days, so... years later, after my last LEGO S&H catalog had long since arrived in the mail, I decided to get back into them, and re-buy some of the sets I used to have, as well make some childhood dreams come true! My interests include LEGO (of course), drawing, reading, writing, hockey, wrestling, hiking, camping, fishing, Anime, TV channels like History, Discovery, TruTV, Sci-fi, Animal Planet, various TV shows and movies, Transformers (how awesome would LEGO TFs be?!), Star Wars (again, cannot believe I have no LEGO Star Wars sets!), comic books, tropical fish, etc... the list could go on for quite some time. Suffice to say I am a collector and I have many hobbies that my interest often wanes and increases between, with a few that stay pretty steady. I will enjoy looking forward to discussing stuff about LEGO and it seems there is quite the lingo for me to learn as I never realized such a huge community existed online! I also will probably post some pictures of my custom LEGO creations but I am not sure how they will measure up to some of the splendorous creations I have seen here, from people with obviously far more LEGO bricks in their collections! Chris Phipson Posted March 4, 2010 In the immortal words of Bruce Willis... "Welcome to the party pal!" There should really be a new guys guide to the Lego community, but unfortunatly most of it is trial and error. The one thing that you'll find no matter which Lego site you call home (here, MOCpages, Flickr, Classic Space Forum and so on) is that this community is among one of the nicest and helpful communities I've ever come across. You'll find that if you just explain that you're "new" to the hobby and ask for some direction, someone WILL help you out. I'm new to Eurobricks myself but have been a part of the online community for a few years now. No matter where you go, someone is always there to lend a hand. In the mean time, welcome aboard and good luck to you! We'd love to see some of your MOCs (Your first Accronym. MOC stands for My Own Creation.) and welcome to the AFOL ranks! (Adult Fan Of Lego). ~Chris.

Anyway, welcome to the forum, I'm sure you will have a great time here!
