Persians, come and get them!

Recommended Posts

The Persians first attack came from a horde of undisciplined conscripts

aimed at overwhelming the Spartans phalanx with their sheer numbers.

Wow. I love the feel of this MOC. It really gives the sense of the intelligence of the Spartans and the sheer numbers of the Persians. I can almost see the Spartans feet dig into the ground as they hold their position and then push the Persians back. One of my favorite scenes from the movie 300. Although I am a huge fan of your Star Wars MOC's I am happy that you are doing these. I hope to see more scenes from the movie. Great work.

the cliffs at the sides look "lots of bricks"!

can feel the "confrontational" factor looking at your MOC!:laugh:

I really like the way you made it a phalanx, but pushing the spears in a slow, gradual upward way. I dunno why, but something about that pose caught my eye.

Also, the sheer numbers of Spartans is enough to stare at for a while.

That's exactly the atmosphere that I wanted to convey of this scene before the impact happens. Need a break from time to time and I always go back to castle themed MOCs. Maybe doing another scene.

Wonderful! I love the size and details you have laid out. :classic:

Every bit of detail counts in the end and the other pics show the various angles of the confrontation.

This is where Leonidas shouts "HOLD!".

Repositioning the Spartans a number of times was a bit painstaking to get the right mood. The front line was more direct and the succeeding lines were meant to converge in on the action. Props to you for spotting that! :sweet:

That is how the phalanx is supposed to be I think. If everyone had their spears pointed forward, that might be a bit dangerous for the guys in the front in the event they get pushed back they would get skewered by their own allies!

Very awesome moc btw.

Amazing rendition of 'the Hot Gates' AC! Great job on the realistic rock formations and this build really captures the movie scene perfectly well. Impressive work as always!

The sheer number of spartans is amazing ( I only have one) and the persians look cool, i like the way you made their sheilds. The cliffs emphisise that it is a narrow pass and the spartans are holding the line.
