For some reason, since two days ago, Eurobricks keeps redirecting to Adware sites. It mainly is occurring on the forum index, but it just started happening in Train Tech. I know it's not a client side problem since I've run AdwareMedic and ClamXAV and my computer has come up completely clean. It's happened 3 times now. Every time its happened I clear history, clear cache, disable WebGL, etc, but it keeps on reoccurring. I heard someone mention that ads on mobile keep redirecting to App store, and it's bothersome enough they can't browse. Could this be related? I'm tired of this and it should be fixed or at least investigated. Is anyone else having problems with this?

I am getting this problem too. Ads from the company "eDeals" keep invading my screen whenever I click on Eurobricks.

Not happening to me... I'm using Ad blocker, though. Maybe you should install it and see if it helps?

This issue is being looked into, if people could share what's coming up it would be helpful, if only to target those for removal.

I am having the same/similar problem, I have ad blockers and I have run two different malware removers and they find nothing on my comp. I am getting it only when I visit the Town forum. I will make a note of it if it happens again.

I've had a three of these hijack the browser (two his morning) when I tried to enter the Town forum. They were links to

opendownloadmanager.com

^^ Don't go there.

I have this glitch where random words from posts/PMs get highlighted in block capitals and are links to "Reimage Repair". DO NOT click on them.

We've blocked ALL partners that don't start with "A" and most of those too. As a result our income is currently below our expenditures... so blocking them all together isn't an option. So if people can give me a name beginning with "A" I can look into if it's being naughty and probably ban it in the short term. The target link is irrelevant, I need the add partner and it should be shown.

I don't see these nasty ads so from my point of view the problem isn't there... so I need more info to solve this. Do realise though that it is possible that you may just have an infected machine. I'm decently sure that stuff like highlights in the page actually aren't possible with the current ad system. (Popups are though.)

The site was opendownloadmanager.com. There was a extension of random characters after the main URL besides the typical showtopic/entry numbers. As soon as the page finished loading, I received a browser popup asking if I wanted to proceed to open download manager.com, which continued to the site without selecting the options. During this, it redirected to 1 or 2 completely randomized URLs before going to opendownloadmanager, which I'm guessing was a redirect leading from the false Eurobricks URL to this site. After the site loaded, I clicked out of the browser popup, force quit, erased all history and cache/cookie data, and then I ran virus and adware detecting software.

It was showing a security certificate error that I dismissed when I opened Eurobricks since the URL matched completely, and it showed up on other topics randomly, so it may not necessarily be from an advertisement on the page, but a hack, since I can't fathom how going to the site would randomly redirect to a Adware site otherwise. And I have kept in mind a possible virus on my computer, but I've tracked downloads, checked for browser extensions, and ran several virus programs. I'm not entirely sure it's not my computer, as most antivirus programs can detect on average %90 of viruses, but I've done everything within my means to guarantee it wasn't my browser, and I wouldn't have come forward if I wasn't sure. Thank you so much for being cautious about this problem.

....which is the concern as I don't see ANY of these issues. (Some of the staff do,) Thus the chance of the site being hacked as the cause is pretty unlikely in my book...

What's your OS and browser?

I can't speak for Lego Dino 500, but the symptoms they described are what I experienced. I'm using Chrome (up to date 40.0.2214.94 64-bit) on a MacBook Air running OS/X Yosemite 10.10.2

Eurobricks is the only site I have experienced these issues with.

OSX 10.9.5 in Safari. This was the only site I experienced problems with, and since the ad block that Sinner mentioned, Eurobricks has run perfect.

Same here. I only noticed it on one computer though. Not the other... :shrug_oh_well:

OK. I'm going to continue re-enabling ad partners before we go broke. Please report suspects here ASAP so I can try to narrow down the naughty ones...

Another popular forum had the same issue. (They were using the same forum software.) It seems to be related to the forum software, not the ad service.

The issue was that when someone clicked on a forum thread from a Google search, they would be redirected to an ad page. The ad page would set a cookie so it wouldn't happen to the same person twice, which makes the attack less noticeable.

It doesn't seem that Eurobricks is having this issue anymore, assumably because the admins have updated the forum software.
