Minifig series 1 barcodes

Recommended Posts

As a resident of the UK, I can confirm the details:

> the barcodes on this site are for EU figs only

> the UK/US Barcodes are entirely different. I Have the Spaceman and the Ninja, and their barcodes not only don't match but also aren't on the list.

> But I have noticed that the barcodes all start the same, so you only need to look at the latter half of the barcode.

The link is a direct copy of the one in the Brickset/Brothers Brick news article. Here is the link to the brickset article.

I actually picked 5 up from my local Argos and got 2 Archers, 2 Ninjas and an Indian...pfft

But the barcodes DID match the ones on the list, so maybe its changing and I got some from an early batch?

Or Argos got sent the EU ones by mistake. I really want a nurse, though, so I'm off to Argos tomorrow , where I purchased them yesterday, and buying 2 more.

I'll start scanning them into a MS Word document. Any assistance RE barcodes would be most appreciated.

I too picked up some from Argos and from TRU today and the barcodes all match the Euro list.

Well, it's not the same list of barcodes, but it contains the same information, directly taken from each bag:

Assembled during our event when we all were given two minifigs.

Hmm...that Cheerleader one will be very useful. Thanks!

I've been buying in Argos and the barcodes have all matched Holodoc's list.

I'm too selfconscious to check them in the shop so I wait until I get home. Seventeen packs and three Zombies, hehe... sucks to be anyone else living here looking for the undead.

Funny! I used that very list & managed to get a full set plus 2 extra cheerleaders an extra skater, an extra caveman & an extra zombie in the UK!!

OK... This may or may not be relevant and representative data, but I've just unpacked a whole box in an organized fashion, keeping track of which figures I was picking out.

Here is a breakdown of the EU box I recieved, by row, working downwards and starting from top left to bottom right:

Row 1.

1. Ninja

2. Robot

3. Nurse

4. Zombie

5. Robot

6. Zombie

7. Zombie

8. Diver

9. Diver

10. Diver

11. Diver

12. Robot

13. Nurse

14. Diver

15. Robot

16. Ninja

17. Ninja

18. Ninja

19. Ninja

20. Magician

Row 2.

1. Magician

2. Clown

3. Clown

4. Clown

5. Indian

6. Indian

7. Astronaut

8. Astronaut

9. Astronaut

10. Indian

11. Astronaut

12. Crash test dummy

13. Wrestler

14. Crash test dummy

15. Crash test dummy

16. Forestman

17. Crash test dummy

18. Forestman

19. Magician

20. Magician

Row 3.

1. Caveman

2. Skater

3. Cowboy

4. Cowboy

5. Skater

6. Caveman

7. Forestman

8. Crash test dummy

9. Caveman

10. Forestman

11. Caveman

12. Nurse

13. Cheerleader

14. Cheerleader

15. Skater

16. Cheerleader

17. Cowboy

18. Cowboy

19. Wrestler

20. Wrestler

Disclaimer: I will not be held responsible for any disappointment caused by picking out the wrong figures based on this data. However, what it did suggest to me is that the packaging of the figures is hardly random: almost all the same figures are also in the same rows. I'd at least suggest you not take two packets lying next to each other if you want to avoid getting the same figures.

Also, it is more proof that the selection of figures is exactly the same for all boxes, with each containing three complete series and also containing the same extra figures.

Wow indeed this is hardly random! Most of the minifigs are bunched together in small groups! Thanks for your efforts, your list is very informative. I would be curious to compare with someone else's box!

Coincidentally the wrestler and cheerleader that I picked up in Argos came from the third row also and there were only 3 missing from the box when I got to it so little chance of shuffling things around. I'd checked the barcodes for the cheerleader and there was definitely no cheerleader in the Argos box in the first two rows! If more people can verify this it would mean that a targeted minifigure could be located much more quickly.

Randomness wouldn't show up as none of the same figs being next to each other ;) however, I think it's likely that since the same figs are in every box, they will be positioned in the same place too, as this would be much easier in the factory.

I see your point, but I only meant randomness of minifig positioning in the box, not randomness of distribution of the different minifigs per box, which by now we are pretty sure is rather limited to a single pattern or two. :classic:

Holodoc's list does of course work for Argos in Ireland too (presumably the Irish stock comes from the UK).

I was missing the nurse after using a different barcode matching method to buy 12 of the packets (I wanted no duplicates so just checked against other packets until I had all unique).

To get the nurse today when I went back to Argos, I simply remembered the nurse barcode, it's the only one with two sets of double thick bars on the RHS of the barcode.

Used the list again today in another shop & managed to pick out the 3 skaters & 2 cheerleaders I was after!

I may have missed something, but is the whole issue around barcodes the fact that you cannot see the minifig in the box. Is one minifig sold per box or multiple. I read somewhere that release date was June 2010, are they in fact available now? Some people here from Ireland suggesting Argos have them, do Smyths too, do you know?

Be aware that the series 2 pictures shown there are preliminary.

There is at least one photo out there showing final versions (including a green Sombrero on the Mexican)

I printed a modified version of holodoc's list to aid me in any future purchases. I re-organised the barcodes into four groups of similar codes. First four, RHS of barcode is all thin lines (Indian, Zombie, Dummy, Clown). Second four, RHS has one thick line (Cheerleader, Robot, Ninja, Spaceman). Third four, RHS has double thick lines (Magician, Caveman, Skaterboy plus nurse with two sets of double thick lines). Last four, multiple thick lines close together on RHS of barcode (Wrestler, Cowboy, Forestman, Diver).

This printed at 50% of A4 (rotate the image 90 degrees and print at 39% size) and folded into quarters means a handy "cheat sheet" that is very quick to check barcodes against (two of the sets of four either side of folded to 1/8th A4, and the other two sets of four if you open/reverse the last fold).

I hope this explanation is helpful.

It didn't aid me in the end as the box that my local Argos had out, had only four packets left (none of which I wanted). Online stock checker said more than 5 in stock so I assume they have more boxes but I wasn't cheeky or desperate enough to ask.

I still have to get the robot and zombie.
