It's great to finally see your wonderful creations put together in a town layout LT! Can't wait to see your completed town layout. I must say the trees in the background give a nice realistic look to your town. Keep it up!

Thanks 'SilentMode' for your kind comments, now seeing the images of mid-year release stuff, I might design some very old looking machinery (old loading/unloading equipment sitting on an old river dock), but that might be later on in 2011 though.

Keep on watching (at the end of the week) !

Excellent work there mate.

Nice to see your keeping the feel of a Lego town and keeping the playability there.

I think the ANZ bank has to be my favourite building of yours. And I really like them street lights of yours.

Thanks 'sebby', in any case I'm back from first lot of holidays (that's with my son), now currently I'm working on the train crossing lights - not easy to do as realistic but I'm giving it a fair crack. Also I will be starting on the silo design too !

So keep on watching ! :sweet:

Nice. What are you doing for the signs/stickers?

Thank you 'Cinderbike', oh.....the stickers are simple printed on 6x4 inkjet photo sticker paper, of course an inkjet printer - images from Google images and finally resizing/trimming/recolouring, etc., on MS paint.

Update......still trying to work out the crossing lights plus find a workable image of a silo to built.....looks like it will 2 to 3 side-by-side at around 16 studs in diameter each (maybe larger....must check the scale against a real one)......keep on watching ! :sweet:

This is what's next, my biggest challenge ever.........

MR00955_copy_large.jpg

to minifig scale too !

It might only have two silos, mainly to do with the cost factor and from what I have found out the height is about 3 times the diameter of the base....compare the grain wagon to the size of the silo - OMG !

Comments and suggestions towards my latest creation.....and man, it will be BIG !

Brick on everyone !

Wow, it's really good to see your whole town together :sweet: I really like how you've managed to capture the Australian small town feel, and how you've made them buildings interesting whilst still similar enough to really belong together.

Good luck with the silos, looks like they'll be epic :cry_happy:

Thank you 'Princess Storm' for your kind words :sweet: , I have been on a fact finding tour otheriwse known as a getaway with the wife for two days. In which I look for more silos and found a pub to model my town's pub on. Anyway, I'll start actual work on the train crossing this week, then the silo or pub, depends on the parts I have on hand at the time.....Brick On Everyone !

Home again for my tour......ouch, only realised how tall these silos might be maybe up 60 bricks high *oh2* and that's before the top grain handling section.

So the question is do I build a monster concrete look silo or a smaller but wider metal look silo ?

Then there is the loading and unloading equipment.......plus a semi trailer to carry grain to the silo for storage and final loading on to a freight train.

Comments and suggestions very welcome indeed......so keep on watching and commenting !
