10128 - Train Level Crossing; Theme: Trains

I put the set together using universal mode and then tried to switch to the extended mode.
I wasn't able to put the two requiring baseplates underneath the set. There's only the dark bluish gray ones, not the older with green to both sides. And the 16x32 baseplate seems to be a "normal plate" instead of a base-plate.

Furthermore LDD didn't allow me to put the "Brick, Modified 1 x 4 with Sloped Ends and Two Top Studs" (the flashlights on the car) on top of the roof.
Anyone, who's got an idea how to solve both problems?

Errors:
These items are missing:
Baseplate, Road 32 x 32 6-Stud Straight with Dark Gray Road, Yellow Dashed Lines and Storm Drains Pattern
Baseplate 16 x 32
and for
Crane Basket 2 x 3 x 2 with Non-Locking Hinge Fingers (which seems to be unavailable in extended mode, too) I used Crane Basket 2 x 3 x 2 with Locking Hinge Fingers
Of course the printed tiles are not prensent as are the stickers.

• The 16x32 "normal plate" is a new piece separate from the 16x32 baseplate (2748). The baseplate is available from Extended Mode, and is in the category marked with a picture of a road plate. As for the road plate itself, it thankfully ought to be the type that is on LDD (44336, with the 6-stud curb), although the correct decoration isn't available (as you mention, the decoration available is for the Dark Stone Grey road plates)
  
  
• The crane basket you mention is indeed missing from LDD.
  
  
• The lights should fit on the car roof just fine. Maybe the tools on the back of the cab are colliding with where the lights should go-- try rotating or removing those tools and see if the lights will attach properly.

Not opening your file to look for other errors, but what color did you color the light grey parts? They should be 194 Medium Stone Grey, but they look like they might be lighter than that. Other than that, this is just an answer to the errors you mentioned. No, I'm not going back to correcting all errors on everyone's files here. I have neither the time nor the patience anymore.

I've updated my post above:
- The lights indeed can be placed on the roof when the tools are rotated. Thanks for the info!
- I used the wrong gray color. I'm really sorry for that, but I've changed the color in the picture as well as in the lxf-file.

I still don't get the baseplate problem.
In extended mode the fourth thumbnails shows "baseplate 16x32", but when I put it on the main window it looks like a "normal" plate.
Here's what I mean: To the left the plate, to the right the baseplate:

As I told you in a private message, the rails are the problem: the traverse plates have not anti-studs on the bottom, so it is impossible to connect the baseplates.
Did you have a look at my modified model?

Could be a bad render, or (perhaps more likely) an obsolete version of the baseplate. Funny that Bricklink doesn't list the square edges kind (2748), while LDD doesn't list the one with rounded edges (3857). Perhaps 2748 never made it to production? It is an older part number, older even than most basic bricks...

Aaaaahh sorry for interjecting again. But it looks like you used 37 Bright Green for regular Green, which should actually be 28 Dark Green. What Bricklink and most AFOLs call Dark Green is actually 141 Earth Green. So according to Bricklink, the tree and the baseplates should both be 28 Dark Green.

The naming makes sense, I swear. LEGO's various "green" colors might seem to be named oddly, but it's all consistent with the way TLG's other colors in their "basic spectrum" are named. The same can't be said for many newer color names, like the dark purple color "Medium Lilac" (medium usually implies a lightish color, but more recent color names have seemingly reversed this for whatever reason).

Sorry about this... it's dreadfully irresponsible of me to point out individual errors if I'm not willing to do a thorough error check. But back when I did error checks on all sets in this topic, it caused me a lot of stress that carried over into my everyday life, and I don't want to fall into that again, at least not until I'm ready for it.

Strike 2:
4513 - Grand Central Station - Theme: Trains / World City

Errors:

• The 4 2x2 plates and 2 2x4 plates won't attach underneath the elevated platform bricks.

• The wheel to turn the revolving door can't be placed underneath the round plate.

• The two elongated black roof parts don't attach to the roof closely enough

• I wasn't able to spot the right door frame in LDD. It should have been part 2493, door frame 1x4x5, but that part doesn't seem to be included in LDD. Strange. I used the smaller frame (1x4x4) instead and put a 1x4 brick on top of it.

• The goblet (BL part 2343) also isn't included in LDD. I used the "drinking glass" (LDD) (BL part 33061) instead.

• stickers are completely missing

• some printed parts are wrong, I used similar ones instead (envelope, cash point, faces, suits, etc.)

• some prints are missing.

Anyway, I'll try to help out with this one:
1) The 4 2x2 plates cannot be placed due to a brick bug in LDD. I've been told that this has been fixed in the next version of LDD (whenever that comes out).
2) Yes, the elongated roof parts won't attach. This is due to poor model design at TLG thus putting the bricks under stress. This was more common in older sets when the design rules weren't as strict.
3) 2493 is indeed missing from LDD
4) The goblet is in LDD. in bricklink there is stated an alternate number (6269) and that you can search for in LDD.

Then I could only spot one color error: "2493 Slope 33 3 x 4" is probably supposed to be Light Gray, since it has never been produced in Dark Gray. (PS: You know you an use LDD Manager to import LXF-files yourself and quickly see the color errors?).

Is there a chance that 2493 is going to be part of a future extended palette? I mean it was a quite common part: Appeared over 23 years in 55 sets in 10 different colors... Maybe they simply forgot that brick (as well as the windows to put in it)?

I found the goblet (named "cup" [way to easy to look for...]), in this case, in LDD you wouldn't have found it with the BL expression "goblet.

The slope brick indeed is light grey, I was misguided by the dark grey printing on it. I updated my *cough* 10128-file accordingly.

Building older sets makes me want to ask if we need a topic, where "lost" bricks can be listed. I mean, having built 2 sets made me stumble upon three parts, that are not on the LDD parts list (so far). So there should be a lot more.

Yes, I certainly think so. It's high on all our wish list. Otherwise, old parts are starting to slowly find their way into LDD.

Another thing I'm not so keen on is that you include your tag. I can understand why you do it, but at the same time it "messes up" the LXF with bricks that aren't supposed to be there. The actual brick count could for example be good when comparing the accuracy of the model, or comparing different versions of the model. If you want to add your name, you can instead add the "author" tag in the META section of the LXFML.

Thanks for comment and suggestion 'Superkalle'. I just try something new. We know that everybody can delete that and re-save (overwrite) in seconds while first time open it. It shouldn't be a big problem right? Hope I can learn how "author" tag work.
