BarkerJ94 Posted August 3, 2016 Hello! I'm Julian and I'm researching LEGO, the online brand community, innovation and AR for my MA dissertation at the University of Bournemouth! I'd just like to interview anyone who would be willing to give their perspective on these topics! :) I could send over a Participant Information sheet and a Consent form to your personal email for your discretion to examine/agree to. Would anyone be kind enough to help me? :) Julian
BrownR93 Posted August 3, 2016 Are you affiliated with LEGO at all? :) did you need their permission?
BarkerJ94 Posted August 3, 2016 No no not really, this was on my own accord and is independent of LEGO
BrownR93 Posted August 3, 2016 I see, could I participate? What do I have to do?
BarkerJ94 Posted August 3, 2016 I'll be asking some questions (over PM) about AR, innovation and LEGO online brand communities and it should only take an hour - although you have to read the Participant Information Sheet first and the Consent form!
BrownR93 Posted August 3, 2016 Okay, I think I can only PM you are 10 posts, but why LEGO? :)
BarkerJ94 Posted August 3, 2016 I find LEGO incredibly interesting, the advent of PokemonGO has really informed my research whether LEGO can do something with AR, much like the old LEGO Fusions!
BrownR93 Posted August 3, 2016 I remember LEGO fusions! they were great hah, although I only had one or two sets because they were expensive!
BarkerJ94 Posted August 3, 2016 I never had one haha, I have an old box at home and it's filled with assorted LEGO parts, I've not had much chance to play with them because I've been at uni!
BrownR93 Posted August 3, 2016 I see! Is that just LEGO you've collected over the years or that you've amassed in one great lump? :P
BarkerJ94 Posted August 3, 2016 Over the years, but both I guess, my parents and their friends handed a lot of their LEGO down to me, it's not got anything worth much in though, it's just a really assorted pile!
BrownR93 Posted August 3, 2016 My friend's box is kind of like that, it's really mixed, and has no themes whatsoever in!
BarkerJ94 Posted August 3, 2016 Fair enough haha, you're nearly at 10, when you reach 10 can you send me your email so I can send you the consent form and participant information form? :) It'll be strictly between us!
BrownR93 Posted August 3, 2016 Yes of course, how long will it take?
BarkerJ94 Posted August 3, 2016 Probably up to an hour! Maybe haha!
BrownR93 Posted August 3, 2016 That's fine, I'll send it across. Chat on PM :)
sparkart Posted August 3, 2016 What does the acronym "AR" mean? The more you learn about LEGO culture, the more you appreciate how large and diverse it is. If you can find a local LEGO User's Group (LUG) and go to a few meetings it can give you some interesting perspectives. Good luck.

This is the official map with all the LUGs on it- https://lan.lego.com/lugs I believe this is the biggest LUG in the UK- http://www.brickish.org Edited August 3, 2016 by BrickCurve
