WhiteFang Posted November 16, 2014 Hello everyone, I am back to bring a small polybag which is one definitely one of the decent polybag range within the current Galaxy Squad which is about to end-of-life very soon. By chance, I picked this polybag many months ago when I was in the LEGOLAND Malaysia and it happened to be available to be selling at a promotional price for about RM10 which is about USD$3.00 which is very much reasonable for a hard-to-find polybag like this. So, I have decided to do a short review for this since I am going to open it up anyway. Hope you will enjoy reading it. Name: 30231 Space Insectoid Theme: LEGO System / Space / Galaxy Squad Year: 2013 Pieces: 27 Minifigs: 1 minifigure Price: USD $3.49, GBP N.A, EURO N.A, SGD N.A Resources: Brickset, BrickLink An original polybag image of the 30231 Space Insectoid Back view of the original polybag image of the 30231 Space Insectoid Incoming enemy! This is one of the two polybags in the LEGO Galaxy Squad. For a polybag like this size, it is great to feature both good and bad guys element in this small built. A simplistic built will allow Galaxy Squad lovers to amass a decent size of the micro space insectoid and build up a decent army of the Green Squad. Instruction Manual (Front) Instruction Manual (Back) First half of Galaxy Squad 2013 It is a pity that I am unable to complete the whole of the Galaxy Squad 2013. It is a good and short-lived space theme which kind of emulates the Starship Troopers to some extent of humans versus bugs. I am pleased to own the 70700 Space Swarmer and the 70703 Star Slicer in my limited space collection. The LEGO building content It is pretty quick to laid out the entire building content which will be the focal point of building up the space insectoid. After the built is completed, these are the remaining spare parts. Green Team Leader - Chuck Stonebreaker Let me introduce the Green Team Leader and he is Chuck Stonebreaker. He is the sole human personnel who is assigned to the Green Team whom excel in defence perimeter through the use of heavy artillery support. He is certainly combat ready and prepared to transform to his battle mode by turning the head to the other direction. It also contains back printing which reveal his battle division of '30'. This is just a random inference which I don't know what it meant since the other Galaxy Squad minifigures also have '30' at the back of their torsos. This minifigure including this polybag, can only be found in three sets Green Team and Blue Team standing by The finished built of Space Insectoid This is a micro scale bug sized enemy which is capable of flying and engage the Galaxy Squad at rapid speed. The colour schema stays close to the villainous colours of dark red, lime green and black. Although it may look small but don't be mistaken of the small built which is incredibly deadly when attack in swarms. Furthermore, do mindful of the Space Insectoid's deadly sting which is likely to cause paralysis. The built up scale between Space Swarmer and Space Insectoid Going into full battle mode To conclude, this polybag is pretty value for money. It allow the builders to own two distinct factions and pretty focus to give decent fun of playing against one another through such a small built. I will have to admit that the best thing about this polybag is able to obtain the Green Galaxy Squad minifigure through such an inexpensive means. I find the minifigure design very detailed and I am very much fond of it. Luckily, I managed to acquire this polybag without buying the main play sets. Summary review Playability: 8/10 (Very fun to play and set up a simple fighting scenario of good versus bad.) Design: 8/10 (The space insectoid is not too bad, but the minifigure is definitely the best.) Price: 8/10 (Reasonable pricing, if you are able to find it between USD$3 to USD$3.50 for it.) Overall: 8/10 (Do not miss this polybag especially if you are a fan of space or a Galaxy Squad lover.) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. My lowest score rating ever! What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr.
