25% OFF any single lot SALE @ Troy's Surplus

Recommended Posts

I am just about caught up with my backlog (10 more orders to go!) and need some money, so it is SALE time again!

25% off ANY single lot order in my store!

This includes ALL item types (Parts, Sets, Minifigs, Instructions, Gear)! I have listed tons of new parts so there are plenty of good deals to be had!

How to participate:

Place an order for 1 Lot and 1 Lot only. A "lot" is any quantity of a single item.

Include the following "code" in the notes section of your order: "Eurobricks"

I will apply the discount manually when I invoice your order.

Rules:

Standard shipping charges will still apply and will not be discounted.

Order additions are not allowed.

Only one order per person / username may be submitted during this sale. If you currently have an open order with me, let me know and I will mark it Packed so that you can place a new order.

Not valid with any other offers (so don't waste your coupons). Items already on sale will not be discounted further (These few items are already 25%-50% off so don't waste your discount on them!)

Sale will end at midnight Sunday night BrickLink Server Time.

Thanks,

Troy

This is the 5th topic of this kind you have created on the eurobricks forum advertising your Bricklink store. While it is nice to offer discounts to EB members maybe you could talk on the forum about the lego, rather than just trying to get money out of us.

It was my understanding that this forum ("buy, sell, trade") was specifically for these types of posts. I am sure that the members that have taken advantage of my posting these messages here are happy that I do.

Besides, the last time that I posted a non-sales message here it was not very well received! :-P

While I'm sure many members here take advantage of the sale and are glad that you let us know, it's generally looked down upon to only make sales, rather than trying to be a part of the community. We've had members whose first (and only) post was in the BSTF forum who are basically only members here to make some money, and I think that's what he was referring to.

There's absolutely no reason not to post something like this here, but it's always a good idea to try to post in other places too, as it gives a certain impression when you only post when you want to sell something, I'm sure you know what I mean.

i like being updated to these sales... as i have shopped a few times with troy's store.

i think troy is respected member of the AFOL community in general, so i find it ok that this is all he posts here, if he wants.

just my opinion - BM

Agreed. Troy is not some newbie with a smartass screen name trying to sell us his Star Wars collection on his second post at EB. I've bought from him several times. I think he gets cut some slack. There have been other guys who advertised here, and I bought from them too. I am glad they tried to sell here.

That being said, we don't want EB overrun by people joining just to sell.

One approach is to have Admins come up with a consistent policy that takes into various factors, and then everyone knows where they stand.

Or, sometimes the best policy is no policy other than common sense. The admins can just arbitrarily delete whatever seems inappropriate to them, since they are admins and can do whatever they want (I'm not being sarcastic, I'm serious). I have not found the admins unreasonable or intolerant. As long as the volume of sellers does not become a problem, I don't see a problem with the second approach either.

I agree.

I'll go have a look at Your store right now.

I do understand the sentiment express here, and my lack of posting elsewhere is not meant as a slight to Eurobricks. If I had the time, I would explore the site and post more. But as it is, I have a hard enough time staying on top of my orders and have not had much time left over lately for building or community participation.

Hopefully this will change after the christmas season and I will be able to explore Eurobricks in more detail. Until then i'll just checkout the posts of the new sets! :-D

I actually disagree that these kinds of members should be banned. It's nice of them to give us special offers and if they want to promote their stores here, that's their buisness, so long as they stay in this forum. Perhaps many of them aren't even interested in lego anymore and just want to make sure the most deserving people get the bricks. Think about it, many of our members need to expand their collections and sales like this make it easier. If we didnt buy them then they would go to master mocers with big budgets, who already have more peices than they no what to do with; or worse yet, children! :-X Infact for that reason i think we should encourage as many as we can to flock here. We ought to start some sort of EB ambassadors program. Ofourse it would be much more effective than our other ambassadors program. :-P Anyway that's just my two shillings.

I have ended this sale early. Check my store for the new sale, or wait until I post the new sale announcement!
