MOC: Reegu the Needle

Recommended Posts

They're not alone on Okoto. Much like the Dark Hunters in G1 a silent association operates beneath the surface of the mythical island, people we don't know the names as of yet.

But we know some of the members, and Reegu is one of those. Part of a species living on a faraway island, its kind is well known for their long and weird arms and legs and their stealth abilities, along with their shield-shaped heads. Reegu is not that well equipped, but what it lacks in the firepower department is easily compensated by its outstanding mastery of... the way of the ninja.

This is my first MOC ever, can't believe I waited so many years to build one. Is that really crappy? I tried to pay attention to particulars like colour scheme and playability (to hell the yellow feet, I had no better alternative). I'd love suggestions and feedback.

Thank you very much for reading and viewing!

Reasonably good for a first MOC. I have two pieces of advice for you: First of all, heads that protrude forwards without also having a backwards-swept part never look good because they seem a little unbalanced. Inverting those lava blades would help a whole lot. Second of all, if you are forced to use parts in a certain color for some reason, make sure to add a little of that color in other places in your build as well, as the whole will look a lot more natural. If you have any small yellow spikes, I'd add a few of those to the arm armor. If you have any of the O(O)O connectors and a spare 3m or 4m shell, I'd also try and use that for back armor. Also, usually, if you have to make one limb longer than the other, it should be the lower one. It looks more sleek and practical.

Thank you very much for your useful feedback!

I scrapped altogether the idea of using yellow thanks to two black foot I found, and swapped the limbs to make the guy more sleek: it worked greatly! But I didn't like it with the swords-head on the back, so I kept them the way they were... before dismantling the whole model. The pieces were recylced for something I'll post pretty soon.
