MOC Microfighter AT-AT

Recommended Posts

Hi people! Long time since I have uploaded anything... But seeing as I got my wish that TLG were making a microfighter AT-AT, I couldn't wait to see it. When I did, I was slightly disappointed with it. It jsut didn't seem quite so... detailed... as I'd have imagined it to be. (Yes, I know it's a microfighter!)

So anyways, I finally got round to trying to design my own yesterday, and finished it just a few moments ago.

Sorry it is only on LDD but I dont have all the parts, and won't have the money to place an order until October :(

It is designed to be built in real life with gravity and stuff considered :P

So, here he is! C&C welcomed :classic:

Oh, nice job, it's got all the important parts with a good level of detail as well as the shaping .

For accuracy this model is top notch and looks great. As a microfighter it doesn't capture the same stylized proportions but is more of a downscaled ATAT. Not to say that this is a negative, it simply doesn't match the existing Microfighter collection.

Thanks for the comments guys :)

I see what you mean... Do you think maybe a slightly bigger head, shorter legs and maybe bigger feet might match the proportions a bit better?

Stunnin!

Absolut great job on the AT-AT! So small but you have build it with so many details - really fantastic!!

This looks great... I wouldn't worry too much about scaling as I think this one is FAR more accurately scaled than the 'soon to be released' AT-AT MF (although the TLG version is VERY cute).

But that is just it isn't it, MF's are meant to be sort of chibi-like with space for a minifig to be plonked in? Or am I misinterpreting how they are? And some seem to look chibified simply because they have been designed with the intention of a minifig to be plonked in?

I'm actually a bit confused now lol

By the way, used a 1x2 plate with the ball socket on it for the neck. Gives full head rotation in any direction which I think is a great function, so thanks Zblj for the idea :) The legs have been changed for mixel joints too, while still remaining the same plate sizes so nothing has changed other than its joints being more maneuverable. Im struggling how to design stumpy legs with some sort of decent flexibility for 'play' function

It sort of depends on which Microfighter is being discussed. I think they are, in fact, supposed to be chibified, but some of them show it far more than others. For instance, the TIE Interceptor doesn't look very chibified, even though it definitely is, and the Millennium Falcon and the Clone Turbo Tank look pretty straight-up, actually. I guess I like this model more as a micro AT-AT than as a Microfighter, but then, I only own the handful of Microfighters that I own for the parts and minifigs.
